Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Looking lovely. Just washed mine and am posting to celebrate its first stone chip, just shy of 1 year old.

She's growing up so fast. Front of the bonnet! Can't be prevented. Seems these will show up on Yellow really badly

Don't talk to me about stonechips  I purchased this the day I got it. In my opinion, if you have stone chips, you drive it like you should, not kept in a garage driven once, maybe twice a year.

@kinger8938
Nice pics & nice colour I ordered the same so snap :p;)

Shame about the stone chip  its going to be a job you DIY. Get a little filler mask around so you only fill the area you need to. Gently rub the filler (ONLY!) down when dry. You need to order the Renault touch up kit (it contains primer, lacquer & liquid yellow J37 I think is the paint code but double checking before ordering this). Renault no longer sell the liquid yellow kit BTW. Best you can hope for is disguise the damage no way to get 100% but you can mask it pretty good.

Otherwise for 100% factory finish its a bonnet respray which is around £750-1000...so DIY is probably best! The main dealer advised me today always come back to them for these repairs they get charged trade prices only £100 per panel (if no major filler or dent removal required) vs £500-1000 3rd party body shop prices!

Thanks for the tip. Tbh it's going to happen, for now I'll leave it as it's bound to get a few more at some point just now I see it, I can't unsee it ;)

Sounds like the test drive was a blast and you got a good feel for the car. Congrats on your order, look forward to see it here in the future :)

@kinger8938
Yeah thanks buddy test drive was ok (not really quite as fast as I thought it would be .... until I looked at the speedo! and how far behind the other vehicles were ;) sound insulation is so effective it felt like 30mph!). But all good just the wait now hope I get a cancellation from the next 2 due in the import centre in a few weeks otherwise its a longer wait as no more due in for several months!

For sure pictures are coming early 2022 :D Only selling a handful a month in all of the UK brand new so the production lines are not run as frequently as they used to be :(

If you order the panoramic sun roof option that currently adds even more delay time as it takes up to 2 weeks longer to fit those.

If anyone else needs it there is still @ Renault RRP a single Gloss Black 2021 spec in Northern Ireland at a main dealer right now with delivery miles on it!

Another great thing about the deal I got from Renault UK was they also paid the first year road tax (£895) as well as a £2.5K deposit contribution, 5.9% APR & discounted 4 years main dealer service plan @ £4.99 per month to cover all labour costs up to 100K. Road tax from year 2 is only £155 as the EDC Auto box lowers emissions (hence why manual is no longer an option now as in France the costs & laws are way harsher).

On the subject of stone chips & PPF been looking into this & the high end PPF is expensive so think I will pass on that it might be great for preventing it but at the same time its still not going to stop a heavy impact from a larger piece of debris or stone so at best its an almost but not quite complete solution. 2018-2019 RS4 seem to have an issue with the robots not spraying enough paint inside the rear wheel arches but this was corrected on 2020 onwards models. Probably going to apply some 3M film there myself just inside the wheel arches but like @Greg0986 said if its got stone chips its been driven like it should!

You want a bonnet bra. Saw one just the other day on a Kia SUV. Must have been the first one that I've seen in years. Looked a bit daft if I'm being totally honest :)

But "yes", stone chips are a pain up the backside. Paint on modern cars is so thin these days.

Ahh yes I remember bonnet bras, not something I would go for myself. I feel stone chips are just a natural part of driving a car on our roads. They suck but I'll try not to worry too much.

First longer drive in mine today. Trip to Legoland with GF and our eldest. Only a bit of motorway involved but the car drove so well.

The way there and back from here involves some nice twisty roads before the motorway.

Enjoyed those on the way home as it was much quieter

This is a beautiful looking one in the orange. Just a shame its already had 4 owners (yikes) and you'll be the 5th if you're buying. AT reckons its almost £3k above the price it should be.

Mileage is pretty high too for that price. But it's so hard to judge what's to be considered a fair deal right now :(

Maybe I should turn mine back round for a slight profit :D

Yeah definitely, seems like its been passed around a bit and driven a load in that time.

Yeah very true, prices seem to vary so much at the moment

Haha, I'm sure you'd make a good little profit :p

@Xein I think you are just going to have to accept to either:

1: Order new direct from Renault you will get early 2022 (if you use Renault Finance they have the best deals if your credit is strong). With a £8.3K deposit they give you 0% APR over 48 months! otherwise 5.9-6.9% + up to £2.5K deposit is the best you will get.

2: Keep looking literally every single day at decent used but prices are rising fast not going to be easy to get the exact one you want anytime soon as some jokers are buying just to immediately slap a few £K more on the asking price!

Supply & demand is not likely to change short term. Renault are only selling across the whole of the UK 15-20 new RS 300 Series per month so production lines when they do run & they have all the parts its only every so often they even make them. I hear that Renault are also going slow on these next quarter as it means they come under the EU mandatory emission rules so less cars overall get produced last 3 months of every year to avoid heavy fines if they exceed the target quota for the year!

The real world price guide should be something like (unless extreme miles):

RS280 2019 = £20-26K
RS300 2020 = £26-28K
RS300 2021 = £28-32K (lot of decent improvements on 2021 Phase 2 cars)

Should not really be much difference between used Sport & Trophy prices either as different cars for different uses. Sport is all round for some with a family (like most hatchback owners!) Trophy has less comfort so perhaps £500 difference between the 2 unless it has the ultra light Fuji alloys or sunroof which would add perhaps £2K for both used (new would cost you £2.3K extra). On UK roads I doubt a decent driver in a sport vs trophy challenge would notice any difference between the 2 from a-b on our roads!! ;) unless you are going on the track you sure Trophy Spec is something you actually need as it also comes with the Lithium battery issue which is still not fixed so the car needs the renault solution applied (main dealers do this not so sure anyone else does!).

950 miles Orange 2021 @ £36500 personally the price is too high for me but main renault dealer it will be gone within a day or so do not hang around!
2021 Orange Renault Megane 1.8T R.S.300 Trophy EDC (s/s) 5dr for sale for £36500 in Poole, Dorset (autotrader.co.uk)

7800 miles White 2020 @ £32999 main renault dealer again
2020 White Renault Megane 1.8T R.S.300 Trophy EDC (s/s) 5dr for sale for £32999 in Solihull, West Midlands (autotrader.co.uk)

Does not say miles Flame Red 2021 brand new £37995 (will be a cancellation) not a main dealer though!
Red Renault Megane 1.8T R.S.300 Trophy EDC (s/s) 5dr for sale for £37995 in Barnsley, Yorkshire (autotrader.co.uk)

Dealers are generally underhand as you well know no way does a non main dealer get the brand new 2021 Flame Red without some form of questionable business tactics when main dealers cannot even get them & would sell quite a few more if they could!

Yeah I think at the moment, I'm just going to keep holding out and see what happens with the second hand market in the coming months.

Would love to go brand new but can't justify the total cost for it. My max budget is 25-26k which at present doesn't get you anything haha, so will see what the future holds.

Shame really, but its just one of those things, I guess with it being quite a niche 'rare' car as it were, bumps the price up that little extra.

Keep looking daily ! RS 300 Sports were on Autotrader yesterday £20-24K range several of them!!

Is that private? I'd hold out for a dealer at this price but then again it does look like a fair example. Kind of high mileage but all things considered I suppose it's average for 2 years

Since when did ~700miles per month become high mileage? It's a hot hatch not some exotic garage queen

I think, for me anyway, I'm just referring to others of a similar age and price when claiming this one's mileage is on the higher end.

I stated it's about bang on average in general terms, but just comparing to other listings, it's high
