I will do its only around the corner from me just cannot believe they can lie so blatantly to the customers face!

Someone in the trade told me it was cancelled about a a month ago. If need be I will just sit there all day long putting every other customer off!! until they give me my deposit back!

Man this really sucks, you have been clearly very knowledgeable and excited about getting this car, sorry to hear it's not gone to plan :(

Its ok happy ending all good still on track for my early 2022 factory build :D

Got a response from the UK RS product manager its absolutely not cancelled at all but currently suspended as no microchips & expected to restart in a few weeks-months depending on when they can get these flippin microchips.

RS product manager told me RS4 has 127 individual microchips & a further 14 control system computers  so very microchip heavy !

When production restarts the priority is the main dealer book orders list then they can confirm the build date & expected delivery time frame. The cancellation rumours stem from UK dealers not being able to place new orders anymore right now as production is currently suspended so no new orders will be allowed until it re-opens & the existing factory order book is then fulfilled. After that new orders will continue as usual.

Closest I will get to a new one in 2021 ;) can still buy a Flame Red Trophy 2021 unregistered with 10 mils on it but £47K cost is putting me off as my factory order is only £35k with extras :)

Yep £47k isn't very compelling at all :(
I have been assured by the UK RS Brand manager my factory build will still get made early 2022 so I will just continue to wait for that as the finance deal is very low APR & it makes sense to me. So tempting to get in one now but will just wait a few more months!

UK RS Brand Manager got back to my dealer & confirmed my factory order is now actually being built in Spain  she is due to leave the production line on 7th Dec then it takes another month before my main dealer receives her all ready for her new home :p As 2021 build no 112mph speed limit on this baby either!

My real one is on the factory @ Palencia right now :D Complete build date is on track still for 7th Dec then takes a month or so to ship & to go through the dealer processes & checks before being handed over to me.....with the cost of 99RON fuel rising so suddenly @ 166.5P Litre (rising every week right now! :() the virtual one is probably the one which will see the most mileage

@kinger8938 at first glance I thought that was your car at an event :p

@AWPC Very exciting, I bet you can't wait now. Is there an ETA for handover or not yet?
Well how long it takes to ship is the issue & car is not quite finished yet either its still going through the various production stages! :D I am hoping to speak to my dealer later this week see if I can get any media of the car from him via the UK RS Brand Manager...:p

1800 miles running in @ 3.5K RPM is going to be interesting (first 600 miles no more than 3.5K RPM-I am going to do the entire 1800 miles no more than 3.5K RPM for max engine performance!). Reckon it will take me bout 6 weeks to run in. I plan to do 8 x 220 miles round trips to achieve this!

ooeh, fingers crossed you can get some snaps of the vehicle through production.

Oh that'll be a difficult kind of fun :p just trying not to want to 'race' it about as it were

Pics & video not possible at all due to NDA so they cannot take any but its still on track for early 2022 delivery to me will take plenty then!

Has anyone got any experience with Custom Production from Doncaster?

My Clio 200 (10 plate) died on the 22nd as I arrived at my brothers for Xmas, after a 200 mile drive, literally stopped 10 yards from his house. Sounds like the rods have gone...

So, man maths says....I can either replace the engine (and inevitably gearbox on one of these at some point), sell the car as is and buy something else or drop the Megane engine and R26 diffed gearbox in it and they'll all end up being the same cost(ish).

Custom Performance will do the work for about £4k with the box being an extra £750 on top of £3.25k on the basic engine package.

Engines are compression checked and inspected, new ancillary parts, downpipe to meet original exhaust and the loom modified to take the new engine.

Work will take 7-14 days and they will recover the car from near Derby, though I am now stuck 200 miles from Newcastle for now....

They're calling me on the 29th to discuss in more detail.

@ wesimmo Sorry to hear what happened to your car mate. For around £7-8K right now you can buy an RS250. Not sure I would spend £4k on a engine when another £3-4K get you a car in another league!

29th December its due at the main dealer (it sitting in customs right now wrapped up with the factory seals. The scanning process takes up to 2 weeks alone) & they tell me I will have the car by 10th Jan at the very latest if not 6-7th Jan so not long to go :D

Yeah £3-4k isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things...it is another 100% on the budget for what is basically a hot hatch for fun though.
