Who here owns a Subaru?

Went from a standard Forester XT with a mild tune (260bhp) and a H&S catback to this Litchfield tuned puppy:

What made you choose the foggy over an Impreza?

Only ask because I've always fancied one. Just wondered how different they are to Imprezas.

Will do chaps, gotta do a few things on it to get it back to perfection on the bodywork. But a RR meet sounds like a plan. Its currently running a 300bhp Litchfield map.

Looking at getting a Subaru Impreza 2.5 WRX STI Type UK (IM6) in the next couple of months.
Probably a Pro-Drive if there's one suitable on the market, if not then I'll get that done.

Any owners on here?
What do I need to look out for?

Seeing prices vary between 9k and 17k for these so I'm budgeting for £16000. That sound about right?

Any advice or comments greatly appreciated guys :)

So my clutch decided to start slipping, time for an upgrade. Stage 2 and lighter flywheel inbound.

Although my luck with the bodywork is still growing, now have massive slashes in the bonnet thanks to whoever did that.

How much is a full restore/respray for body?

my old classic scooby going back 5 years ago cost £1700 for full respray deffo your looking @2k now easy ;)

Good for you mate they are great cars, you are aware of the potential 2.5 issues? Iirc correctly then they can go pop, especially if the engine has been mapped. Get a blobeye widetrack instead :D

Only if you push them too hard and we are talking northwards of 400BHP, then you start to get problems. Keep it around 300BHP and you'll be fine.

Cheers, looks like it's time to save again

New clutch is in what a difference.... Also didn't know how much a better flywheel makes wasn't expecting any noticeable difference but it's awesome

Yeah, I have read briefly that the stock map allowed it to run too lean which caused issues and that Subaru had a free remap to resolve this in the earlier cars?
I'd only be looking at 330 to 360bhp anyway.

Very nice! If I was after one, that would be the shape I'd go for!

Cheers :) It's definitely quite an upgrade over my Civic Type R! (Although insurance was no more expensive..)

It's a 2008 and has only done 25k.

It's completely stock apart form the "Prodrive performance pack" which increases it from 296bhp to 330bhp (Exhaust/larger hose/remap afaik) as well as increasing the petrol bill as it takes 98 RON minimum :p

Took a pic recently, still prior to removing the (wrong) decals it has.
