Traded mt 2007 Forester XT for something newer (2013 crosstrek) and better on petrol, had it 2 weeks and im loving it, not as much power as my XT but 450 miles to a full tank and only $37 to fill up from empty just got to register my plates tomorrow which will set me back about $350
yeah its about $2:61 a gallon here. Registration cost me $58 to the state and $318 to the town i can claim the town portion back against my taxes though.
Yes already, someone has also decided that my driver side skirt was too solid so has stood on/kicked it and it's really loose now. The joys of car ownership lol.
Caught some yob wobbling my wing last week too so that is now not as stiff as it was once.
I'll check with Subaru and see what the prices are like. Cheers mate
Just an update to this...I can't find them anywhere FML lol.
Well we had extreme flooding for the past week, it has rained (downpoured) every day.... AWD is just incredible in the rain, even full throttle on boost and it just steers you around the corner. I'm sure VDC etc is all helping too
I've spent the last few days looking at Hawkeye 2.5 STI's as a bit of a change from what I have now. All the talk of blown engines is a worry though, is it just the piston? And just how common is it to happen?
Apparently very common. So either buy one that's had preventative work carried out like larger head studs etc. or budget in for a potential rebuild at some stage.
My undestanding is that the 2.5 is fine unless you push over 350bhp then you may get problems, some are fine up to 400 but I wouldn't take an an unforged one past 350 personally.
