Who here owns a Subaru?

If I ever had to own a jap turbo, I'd go subaru everytime. I've been looking at legacy GTB twin turbo thingies recently. Tempted...

Very nice Edd, I always dreamed of having a white STi version 6 2 door.

I'm going to view a couple of cars this week. An 05 STi widetrack and an 03 STi. Both are similar money but the 03 is supposed to be very tidy hence the guy's asking price. I'm swaying towards the widetrack because it was what I wanted to buy before I got the WRX. Not to mention it's a newer car, better interior, DCCD gearbox etc.

Rang up my insurance on a whim... that'll be £50/year increase for the STi please. I got the guy to double and triple check haha.

It looks like pure JDM bone shaker to me :)

It's the first thing that will be coming off. Followed by the exhaust if it's too loud.

I'm by no means sold on it. There are other Type Rs around and I would prefer a Limited (blue with the blue seats and roof vent) or you even a 4 door V6 STI RA Limited. Finding a good one is tricky.
 
Thanks guys, it was always going to happen. I was eyeing them up last year before I got my WRX but insurance wasn't too welcoming given my lack of Subaru ownership.

I've recently been looking at STi parts for mine and just had to take a step back and look at exactly how much money I was about to waste. A quick call to the insurance made me realise that STi ownership was well within my reach.

Went to look at a couple and settled on an excellent standard car with loads of history.

Pics/details to follow once I have it. Counting down the days :D
 
I am looking for something to compliment my supercharged MX5 for when we go out as a family and saw the car below.

Given I'm very busy with work and then family commitments at weekends, I'm not of the mind to be trekking all over the country looking for a car, so given this is very local, and seems decently priced compared to other examples I've seen with a few quick searches, is it worth going to see it and what they'd let it go for?

Anything in particular should look out for if I do? TIA.
