Who here owns a Subaru?

Not sure, you will need to look but iirc as a rough guide the Hawkeye versions are the higher £400 tax bracket, Blobeye/bugeye are lower, I think mine is £275 a year on a 54 plate STI, that reminds me it runs out this month, better get on the website and get some more lol.

I recall people useing these words to describe the versions of the car by their headlights

im guessing the blob eye is the 2001/2002 one and the one im interested in is the next one up , so i guess its the bugeye (like that pic above)

Ouch. What do you currently pay on yours?

I payed £450 with Tesco, 36yrs old 9 yrs no claims.

Bug is the earliest newage followed by Blob then Hawk. pic above is a blobeye.

Haven't had much time to play around with mine, middle part of diffuser still to go on and also need to trim my mudflaps as they are scraping on the bumps.

Kosta, I'm trying to find the best solution for the exhaust going turbo back.

I'm going for a decat pipe and a straight through centre section bolted to a Blitz NSR for a full 3" system. Do you have any recommendations on what to go for in terms of the downpipe and centre section?

I still have cash here for a 2005+ Blob STI or Hwk STI.

I just cannot find one for sale that ticks the boxes for me. Hoping something comes up over the weekend.

These look decent?

3 months after wrecking my classic Impreza's engine on a trackday I've bought a 2003 Blobeye STI. I had 'decided' that I was not going to bother with high performance cars anymore and was going to save money instead for a house deposit, however when the opportunity came to buy this car for £6200 I couldn't resist! (Apologies for the awful camera phone pics)

Nice  Hope it has a remap though with that induction kit! They completely mess up MAF readings!

is there a scooby only RR day? or the main OcUK one?

Main OCUK one, this Saturday :)

There is a car just 2 miles from me and its caught my eye.

Whats the best model to go for under 7k

Under £7k you can get similar mileage but older STi models. I'd definitely recommend the STi over the WRX. Much more capable.

Will you be getting the end of the Nur Spec cut to suit I take it?

A lad in the local owners club has just taken me out in his 2005 blob sti running 350bhp. Sounded amazing with a few pops and bangs. I did realise Im over thinking the blob vs hawk thing. Fast is fast.

Just gonna get the cleanest car I can that comes up first, though hoping for one already mapped/modded to reduce cost.

What's the best option?

Ideally I'd like to have an unsilenced 3" RCM centre section bolted onto a 3" decat downpipe.

Or I just get the Nur Spec R centre section cut to remove the silencer and have it welded to the downpipe. I'm thinking this is easier as the connection between the backbox and centre section would be perfect fit seeing as both are Blitz whereas having a Blitz/RCM connection may not be perfect?

What did you do and was it easy to find someone to weld on the 3" pipe?
