Who here owns a Subaru?

Cheers for the help, the reason of changing is that I want the noise of my old one again and am also going to get it remapped so seeing as I'm stilling waiting for my new tubular headers to go on i thought I may as well do the downpipe too. I want 350bhp-400bhp, what else do you think are important mods for power?

This is a Newage STI, isn't it? Then: uprated fuel pump, new turbo, new injectors, decat down-pipe, good air filter and a remap. That will certainly get you 350. How much more is in the lap of the gods, but 380-390 should be achievable, and maybe more. Obviously the limiting factor is: which turbo. Slap a big enough turbo on and you can get whatever power you want. At least until something breaks. Remember, essentially you are upgrading the turbo, then all the rest of the mods are there to let the turbo work properly.

Yep it's a 2005 non PPP, so what I'm going for is decat downpipe, walbro fuel pump, cosworth air filter, blitz nur spec r and then a RaceDynamix remap. I'll do without upgrading the turbo until later. Are new injectors required if I'm not upgrading turbo?

Officially 550s, but loads say they're 525s? Standard injectors plus fuel pressure regulator is good for 400 though... apparently.

With emphasis on the "apparantly". Sometimes (probably better than half the time) they are just fine, but sometimes one won't be up to it. Remember, at 400bhp you are running it near the limit for them. For 350bhp they should be fine, but for 400bhp I'd at least budget for 650s, even if I didn't buy them yet.

Well ive gone a bought myself a Subaru LOL, this thread really inspired me to go out and buy one.

This is the first time i have ever bought a car that is not a FORD, so i was a bit nervous, as i know ford cars.

Anyway the car is blue 53 plate, has 38k FSH, 1 previous owner and comes with the PPP.

So far the car is very impressive, power is exactly what i wanted, strong enough to push me back in the seat, and focus on driving the car. Torque delivery is also excellent. Handling is good, but could probably do with a little touch up.

So far so good :) I havent driven a turbo car for some years now, but this car really puts a smile on my face when i get a heavy right foot.

Ill try and post up some pics soon :)

Regards

Right guys, need some advice rather quickly.

I have an opportunity to buy a 2005 Blob STI from a guy in my town who I met from the local owners club. I've already been out in it and it truly is a beast. He has now decided to sell so I have naturally asked for more info, as the last run out was purely a gesture from him so I could experience a Blob, but naturally I didn't take much notice of the car particulars with it not being for sale at the time.

Pros and cons from what I know so far;

PROS
£7500.
50,000 miles.
Full 3" Revolution exhaust
K&N filter panel
Racedynamix remap to 350bhp/340 torque - with added pops and bangs
BC Coilovers
Brand new black alloys
Front splitter

CONS
I would be the 10th owner!
At this moment in time, service history stamps sounds a little lacking but I haven't seen documents yet. He has said its serviced every 4000 miles with Millers.

The fact its local is very tempting, plus it goes, sounds and looks awesome. Its just the owners and service history making me anxious.

Opinions? Does the good price make it worth a punt?

A few pics of my purchase.

It has a FSH 38k on the clock, all previous MOTs, im the 2nd owner, it has the PPP pack, the alloys are Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s 18" Other than that it is totally standard. But in time that is going to change. Hope you like.

Nice buy mate, mileage is great for the year. Exactly the thing I'm waiting on (in either black or blue), though I'm trying to hold out for a 2005 with the DCCD.

May I ask how much you paid?

Thankyou :)

Like yourself G4ORCE i wanted a low mileage vehicle, i wasnt too bothered about the DCCD, as long as i had the AWD i was happy. Drives really well, very responsive when on boost, and drives like any other car when just pottering about. Just really enjoying driving the car at the moment, but im looking forward to adding a few tastefull mods, to hopefully get around 350Bhp.

I paid £7300 for the car.
