Who here owns a Subaru?

@pigeonguyuk guy who i bought my car off deals with scoobies, can be a bit pricey but you are buying a car that has been gone over with a fine tooth comb. He wont sell one unless it is mint.

My car was literally perfect exterior/interior and enginebay.

Ill look out for him tonight and try get you his number if you want.

I think @agw_01 mate bought one off him aswell.

Yeah, my mate bought one from the same guy. 54 plate STi widetrack in black in great cosmetic condition. It's a nice spec with a MD321T turbo and BBS CH wheels but I personally don't think the guy is very mechanically minded.

My mate had it dyno'd and it made under 300bhp. He then had it mapped by Andy Carr and as expected, it's a different beast. While Andy was mapping, it started getting a bit warm. Turns out it had a snapped ARP headstud, a reason why the boost was turned down perhaps.

Apart from those 'minor' issues, it's a lovely car though in excellent condition so I do think the guy was just unaware.

Finally replaced the front and rear brake pads in preparation for its MOT tomorrow. As expected, the rears were well overdue...

Had these in a box for almost a year, Carbon Lorraine RC5+. They haven't even bedded in yet but they are brutal pads. Can't wait to get some miles on them!

Unfortunately the Brembo discs I bought from ECP turned out to be 5x100 fitment. I bought them a while ago now but it's their mistake so hopefully I can get a refund/swap.

Make sure it's not rusty underneath and body work. Between roof and windscreen not just arches. Boot also where spoiler screws in.

Start from cold and make sure it's cold.

Check oil level and coolant even though it's not a 2.5l.

Check service history very carefully.

Check intercooler water spray works. It should sound like the wiper washer motor if it's working and obviously check there is water in the tank.

I'll have a look at the mot history.

OK. Look at mot history. Make sure everything on that last fail has been sorted. :p looks like it was off the road for that year so they probably sorted it, but then again they could have just got a dodgy mot

Quite a history of rust and corrosion from looking at the MOT. I'd get it jacked up (careful of those rusty sills :D) and have a good look underneath. If it has an undertray fitted at the front, this can trap water and corrode the front crossmember. That's a cut and weld job.

Rear arches are known to rust as well, peel back the boot trims and check on the inside.

+1 for service history, smoke and piston slap when cold. Mine blows a puff on cold starts but doesn't really use any oil between services.

I love the Bug STi, I tried to find one before I got my blob. The projector lights make the front end look much smarter.

Yeah looks like it just needs a good check underneath. Also when they say front subframe, most of the time they mean the U shaped crash bar, which isn't actually the subframe. It's a bolt on bolt off part and easy to replace. As said though, check the crossmember, they're known for rot.

MOT passed, so decided to treat my neighbours to some boxer rumble!

Absolutely in love with this thing. It sounds SO good! Sure it's loud but not as loud as I was expecting. So glad I held out for one.

In my excitement last night, I don't think I realised quite how loud it was. Sorry neighbours  :D

The donut gasket fell apart when removed from the old exhaust so I've got a bit of a leak. When I've fitted the new gasket I'll get some better videos. Love love love it! :D

lmao, like a kid at Christmas :D

Every pop and crackle I'm giggling to myself. Sounds amazing with a blip on downshifts, and upshifting at about 3k gets a couple of pops as the revs fall. Cold starts are hilariously loud, might have to get a bung so that I don't annoy my neighbours too much though!
