Who here owns a Subaru?

They gave by far the best price but won't insure the car unless I've had it for a while as I've had the diseasel civic for nearly 2 years now and they want some "performance" car history in the last two years even though I can give them plenty of history prior to that. This is even with a boggo, standard wrx.

It will be a switch onto my current policy for the remaining few months of it it looks like then in July/August I'll have a look again but will probably be Admiral/Elephant for a year by the looks of things.

I've seen a few promising cars both standard and lightly modded which is good, will need to start going to see some cars once the civic goes next week.

As you say, the main three scoob specialists (A-Plan, Greenlight and Keith Michaels) tend to require current experience of 200+ bhp. I understand your pain, but I also understand their position: it keeps the rates down for those of us who do have the recent experience. For non-modded scoobs it might be worth checking RLV - they used to be quite good (but I've heard that they've raised premiums in the last few years).

Finally got around to fitting the new front splitter, side skirt extensions i'll fit next week.

Anyone know how much i'm roughly looking at to get some standard STi headers ported?

Thanks! I would say I don't think I got a single launch right actually. That run I think I had the lines about right, but messed up the gear changes.

Can't wait for the next one at Blyton on the 18th May.

Thanks. I'm was using Yokohama A048s which clearly need a lot more temperature in them to get properly sticky. They're not ideal for sprints as they just seem to lack bite when so cold.

That looks like good fun Kosta!

I need to replace my rear passenger side light cluster as a result of the vandalism so was wondering of your opinions, shall I just pick up a replacement or change both to the hawkeye lights for £100?

quick Q for the experienced scoob owners.

needing a timing belt change on the 2.5 wrx (56 plate)

wheres the best place to pick up a belt and many many tensioners kit and am I correct in what I've been told that its not necessary to replace the waterpump(doing on age rather than mileage as the cars only got 40k on it)

If it's a 56 plate hawk eye the timing belt should have been replaced 2 years ago or at it's 50k service.

no receipts present for a belt change and not something i'd like to take a chance on. for the sake of a few hundred quid and a few hours graft i'd rather just change it.

anyone suggest a supplier as my usual place is quoting me silly bugger prices for a kit. (north of £300 for a genuine kit :(

I had a bit of drag race action today at North Weald Essex.

Best time of the day was 13.23

Really happy with my time considering its only lightly tuned

Anyone recommend what brake pads I should go for on mine? Need to get them replaced and wanted to know what you guys recommend.
