what insurance you paying any of you over 40 ?

curious as father in law thinking of changing fully comp its 1000 with a clean license his is modded to about 400bhp but still seems dear to me.

anyone got any recommendations must be fully comp .

Does sound expensive for a 40 year old, but has he tried all the usual places like Sky insurance, Keith Michaels etc?

That is very expensive. I'm in Manchester, on an M9 postcode, the car on an off-road space, and my previous underwriter stopped covering me when I moved here. I pay £850. In a much safer area I paid £500-ish. I'm also an old man, and this is a 400bhp car with fairly extensive mods. That's with Keith Michaels, but they only cover you for a car like that if you can demonstrate at least a year driving 200+ bhp. I've found A-Plan to be good, and Greenlight to be bad, but worth a try. Take a look around the insurance section of ScoobyNet for other ideas.

Ta, so should there be a code written down in a book somewhere??

That's for when your key fob battery runs out and you need to manually punch the code in to start the engine, mine is a 4 digit number, if you don't have it then I would be ringing the previous owner up to see if they know it as it has come in handy once or twice over the years.

Still waiting to sell my VXR Nurburgring but am window shopping in the meantime.

I'm satisfied it needs to be another widetrack Blob STI or Hawk STI with rebuilt engine to avoid any nasty 2.5 woes. I'd also like to try and pick up something with some existing mods, but nothing too garish.

Opinions...?
