The wrx Sti and sti are the same. The differences between models are power, suspension and brakes mostly. JDM versions usually feature twin scroll turbo's which offer faster spool without sacrificing a great deal at the top end.
 
Ah thanks, just as any 20 year old I have taken a keen interest in cars and I have always admired Imprezza's. Probably drawn to the sound of the flat four. If situation allows it in a few years time I might go for one, or an evo IX but that seems unlikely how rare and expensive the MR FQ-360 is.

You guys have some lovely examples on here. What is the general opinion on the 2.0 litre engine and the 2.5 litre engine? From what I have read around the 2.5 is a little less reliable and desirable, something about gaskets if i remember rightly.
 
2.5s are regarded as unreliable unless they have been rebuilt with forged internals.

Even at 22 I'm look at North of £1500 on insurance so at 20 it's not going to be cheap.

The WRX will be the better buy. Why are you going to want to buy the old technology in the STi? EJ25, not direct injected, WRX has a 6 speed now too, although with no DCCD. Yet again Subaru make a mistake.

This car should have the new DIT 2.0 with a bigger twin scroll turbo and 340bhp minimum.

What a shame. Glad the pricing looks to be good though.
 
I was very disapointed to hear its a stupid EJ25 :( you think Subaru are on to a win and then no do a massive U turn right back to fail central :(

The WRX looks far far better with its DI 2.0 & 6 speed 'box but sadly not coming to the UK from everything i've seen.
