Who here owns a Subaru?

I collected the Hawk lastnight, looks damn good sitting so low but for 3.5 hours on the journey back I was anxious about getting her on the drive. Looks like my anxiety was deserved.

Managed to get it on eventually but had to come in over the neighbours drive almost sideways!

One of the lads on the North East Subaru Forum is going to heighten her tonight for me :p

Loving the wheels, think I made the right choice over the Rotas. I like the Rotas but think these look awesome. Freshly refurbed and coated anthracite.

Got home after 7 hours of travel and still found the energy to spend another 3 hours cleaning!

1x Autoglym Resin Polish, 2x Collinite 476S, 1x Sonax BSD

A few piccies, sadly not as impressive as the other artistic ones in the underground carpark.

lol @ liveries, I think those are for the mid-life crisis brigade :D

Going to remove the Scoobyclinic stickers etc. today, thankfully they are on the outside of the windows.

So to clarify, that you have is a 2.5 UK Hawkeye right? these are the ones where people like top sometimes upgrade the internals for safety?

Looks great mate, well done, cant help thinking the Rotas look better though.

All subjective I guess, having seen both in the flesh I liked the Enkeis better :)

...yes, saving some pennies for some preventative work (pistons, headgasket etc.)

As soon as I started driving home it was on my mind about it turning in to a fireball down the M1 :D

So.... given the last one you had you were not really enjoying the drive of it, how did it feel driving this one?

You know what, good question. It just "feels" different, not just power delivery but a lot more chuckable. Likely the coilovers and arb I guess. In short, I really think I can keep it :D

...one thing though...I stalled it yet again on the drive, thankfully it didnt hit anything this time. For some reason I just seem to think I'm in neutral when I'm not on Subaru. I'm fine with every other car. Need to be careful

Looks fantastic that does Hutchy, and nice spec as well. I prefer the new wheels, the rotas have a bit too much poke for my liking and seem a bit wide for an impreza, I expect it drives better with the new wheels. Are you going to get any centre caps for the new wheels though? Look a bit unfinished otherwise.

Thanks pal. You've just reminded me actually, been looking at centre caps, perhaps just some black ones with the STI pink badge. What size would I need, seems to be anything from 44mm to 55mm for sale! Also they say they are stickers, if theyre just stickers how on earth to they span the void without bending inwards?

If they're OEM wheels you can probably get the centre caps from a subaru dealer still, the price is likely to be a bit offensive though for pieces of plastic!

The different sized custom gel badges you see on ebay etc are meant to stick to a plastic cap that pops onto the wheel, not just stick over the hole :D

...makes sense!

Hmmm, I'll have to see if I can find some non-oem caps + stickers then!

Guys,

What is the standard ride height for an '03 UK STi? Is it 25mm drop from standard that the Prodrive package gives?

I've just bought some BC BRs that give -40mm drop, am wondering if that may be too much.

First hand experience here. Got my car Saturday and was incredibly low, all I could think about on the drive home is if it would go on my drive. No. Cue 3 hours changing the coilover settings (they were terribly stiff). I had an 05 STI PPP and it was fine on the drive. New one.....well...

Before and after :D

Perfect, just high enough to go on and come back off :)

Thanks Gurdas :)

An owners club member helped me with the coilover, best blob I've seen second to yours. Love this shot...

Enfield, I don't pal. You might be OK without a splitter mind...but bear in mind it may be the difference of scraping your bumper rather than a £90 splitter. For me, it just wasnt practical to live with.

Nice picture. Mine looks so tatty at the moment. Got a dented wing and missing paint from the top of the scoop where some idiot at a car wash got too close with the jet wash :(

Nothing worse is there. The body on mine is pristine, but the front lower bumper is terribly splattered with stone chips. Thinking about a respray at some point . For now though, I need £1500 saving to make my 2.5 bullet proof. Until then I wont sleep.
