Who is going to get a Pascal Titan X ?

Where do you get 80C from? I clearly stated and the screenshot shows maximum 76C and mostly 73-75... with an ambient temperature of 4C higher than yesterday

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good argument, eh?

My last post on this because clearly your 1080 is a special edition. I got the max 80c from your AB screenshot look at min and max temp

I won't be accepting any 4 way scores unless the software/hardware is available for anyone to use.

IE

LN2 is ok as anyone can do it if they have the knowhow and the hardware is available to buy.

Using software to enable 4 way SLI that is not available to everyone is not allowed.

Stop biting to his posts. Nobody should care about those types of results. NVIDIA doesn't, which is why they're moving away from it - as support is costly and time consuming. If anyone should be getting shirty it's people like Ian, as vendors are moving away from that scene. There isn't much value there.

Both of them are special? No... don't be silly.

I clearly wasted my time checking those reviews again and sharing their results which mostly disagree with you, while you have offered no proof to backup your claims...

Go and loop timepsy on it and see if you card can run that at 60% fan at 60-65c rofl.

My GTX 1080 FE after running the Rise of tomb raider benchmark about 3 or 4 times

Stock clocks and fan at 60% (2402rpm) showing 82c (don't take any notice of the GTX 580 icon as I not got around to changing it yet)

Your logic is kind of obvious. It's aimed at people with more money than sense ;) However that doesn't stop him from wanting one...

No, it's aimed at people who want one and can buy it without justifying it to some internet loon.

Go ahead and wreck another thread and tell everyone they should buy an old Fury and a cheapo Freesync monitor instead

Not everyone needs to use the budget gear.

Nope, to expensive. I'm going to wait and see what happens with the 1080ti.
With some the GTX 1080 now costing £700 to £800 and the titan XP looking like it going cost around £1200

That would mean the 1080ti going cost around £900 to £1000 at this rate........:(

Here is a review with some realistic unbiased 1080 FE temps in a case (not open testbench).

https://www.computerbase.de/2016-05/geforce-gtx-1080-test/

Anyway overall this is all a bit pointless but my point was that the FE cooler is not good enough for titan X and they should release it with a dual fan or AIO or something that would be a lot better.

That point I agree with, but then like previous generations - the TPX cooler will likely be a little bit upgraded compared to the mid-range cards like 1070/1080... so it will be slightly improved.

FYI... here is Timespy looping for over an hour with my custom fan profile.

The fans never exceeded 65%

Peak for top card was 74C, peak for bottom card was 66C. No fluctations in boost clock at all - perfectly stable at 1810MHz.

The bottom card is more indicative of single card performance than the top card.

Case fans left on my normal quiet profile, so 50-60%. Ambient temp about 36C in my room at the moment.

Good performance in my book and better than the 980/980ti

Doesn't the image in that very post say that the peak for the top card was 80?

No, not in this run or the run of Doom... I'm not sure where that has come from but you can see that the graph hasn't peaked over 74 - I took the screenshot with the graph in its highest point.

That bar is on one of the peaks in the graph... you can see quite a few of them along the timeline. The lower points (ie, the more frequent temp) was 72C.

The graph as 10 points of graduation, you would see a peak up to the next feint line of graduation if there was any 80C figure there. It shows the same max in the Doom run screenshot and there was no 80C peak there either... Afterburner wasn't restarted between runs to reset that figure, the graph is accurate.

It didn't reach 80C in either Doom or Time Spy. And again, GPU2 is more indicative of single card temperatures.
