Who owns a Golf GTD / GTI / R?

Thought I'd chuck an update in due to my recorded mileage...

I've had it 4 years (just over) and done 20k with it as my only car in that time including various European trips, NC500 etc. and all in all, it's been pretty reliable with minimal breakdowns but then I have tried to keep on top of any/all issues I see/feel happening.

The other day I caught this too...

And as for the car, well, here are a couple of snow pics, nothing all that fancy or fun really but beats the boring pics above.

That is utterly beautiful. Is it possibly twilight violet? I had a MK2 16v when they were relatively new. I loved them.

Nah it's Atlas Grey, should be a small bumper car but someone in it's past changed it to big bumper. It'a also only an 8v and it's far from tidy but it runs well enough for me although the exhaust is annoying on long drives. It has plenty of faults but none of them stop it from working and being used as pretty much every day transport around town and for long trips.

Being all 80s/90s in Wales...

@Damien. that's a more than a little frustrating!

I should soon (if 3 months is considered soon) be part of the R family, placed an order last week;

3 Door 310 DSG
Lapiz Blue
19" Black Pretorias
Dynaudio
Rear camera
DCC
Black mirrors
Apart from a climate windscreen, your car has an identical spec to mine :cool:

I'm never going to get bored of the active info display, always makes me smile when I turn the ignition.

Nice :)

Mine is set to start building next week, I think mid May delivery is on the cards.

Or not... it was supposed to be build week 12th March, just had an email saying its on the way! :eek:

Just test drove a GTI 7.5 with performance pack...brilliant fun and I'm on the verge of ordering one. Just need to convince myself that I a) don't need an R or an M140i and b) can wait 4 months for a factory order (no stock cars with the combination of colour and options I want).

The sunroof makes a really nice difference.

+1 Had mine ages and one of the best cheap devices to code, does the same as the VCDS cables but just with an Android phone. Just to add, get the "Pro" version as you can do long coding on that, the standard one only supports Apps.
