Who owns a Mondeo ST220 / ST TDCI?

That sad moment when you hear a loud clunk and then a rubbing noise and realise one of your front springs has broken. That happy moment when you realise you're less than half a mile from your favourite garage. That sad moment when you realise you don't have a car for a few days.

Doh!

Back on the hunt for one of these again (finally sorted out job/pay shenanigans so can easily afford one again, woohoo !). Kind of frustrating watching various ST220's be available nearby and not being able to dive on them the past couple of months :'( Looks like a lot more of them are going for reasonable prices now (£3K - £3.5K). Just a matter of time until one drops that I'm after.

get a E39 530i far more superior car.

Yeh with far superior running costs. The e39 looks far more dated than the ST220 anyway and just looks like a run of the mill old BMW.

Why is it last year when I was after an ST220 they we're selling in a matter of days as everyone wanted one and now I have mine up at 2.9k not even one phone call :eek:it's one of the cheapest on there and also probably in far better condition than 90% for sale. My leather recaro's are like new

Is it me or is the solution to these two problems obvious...

typical response from a ST driver.
E39 has the same running costs as the ST, and parts ie clutch DMF and expensive between the 2.
my E39 in 7 months of ownership has cost me zero.

the ST looks very dated too, and the interior and ride is awful.
each to their own i guess but i would choose the E39 anyday over the local mondeo taxi.

Its ivory not cream. Black is so dull inside and boring i think the red looks the best on the ST but sadly given so few about i settled for second best. I dont know what it is with the black leather on the ST's most u see for sale are wrecked as all the little cracks seem to show on it. U cant say these dont look good :p it goes really well with black paint.

thanks. I Put it On the bay with the other 20 or so ST220'S for sale in the UK i honestly think my interior is in better condition than all of them yet not one call despite the fact its cheaper than all the inflated dealerships prices on there :(
I honestly feel like i am meant to keep this car longer than the 12 months of ownership rather than ship it on for the ST225 as i have been offered lol trade in prices and now no phone calls despite the fact its up on two sites for an excellent price.
