Who owns a Mondeo ST220 / ST TDCI?

Lol, how about no!
They don't have anything like the status of the cosworths - just look at the price of the previous Mondeo v6's - pennies
I was joking lol :D
The ST220 is hardly going to be worth pennies though as its the last proper engine for put into a Mondeo before 99.9% on the road turned into asthmatic 140bhp taxi engines. They will have some value in the future. The car dealerships seem to think so with some of there crazy prices over the last year for car's with less than 70k on.

PSS are mega in the wet!!!!! just been out in really heavy rain and there are loads of puddles. i had bridgestones before and i could get wheel spin even when on full boost. its crazy how much more grip these things have.

I really want the mondeo ST , the 2.2 diesel tho.

Not much around me , but one close for £3k, Looks in decent nick, Full service history done at ford dealers, all the gadgets lol ,only 1 owner

but has done 127k miles, so not sure

Why? They shouldn't even have the ST badge on with a pathetic 150bhp :p
Not to mention far more things break on the tractor engines than the fantastic 3.0 V6 which outweighs any fuel savings. My ST220 is for sale at 2.8k with only 95k on.;) so 3k for a taxi with 127k is a rip off

its only pathetic when stock tbh. 3k for one with 127k on it isn't good value though.

Yeh 180bhp at 3.7k revs then it dies so u have to change gear were as I'm just getting going all the way to 7k while yours farts black smog all over the road.:p:D. Just get the real version u know u want to.

Mines puts out about 220bhp and 480/490Nm, minus the black smoke :p
you are waiting ages for your 276nm (not sure where you get 490nm from lol. whereas i get my 433nm/320lbft at 2320rpm and its over 300lb ft from 1800- to just over 3000.

180bhp, clattering along and a plume of black smoke is still pretty pathetic compared to a 220(ish)bhp lovely sounding petrol 6
yeah you would be left for dead in that black smoke though. torque= acceleration power=top speed. then at the end of the day mine sounds like a taxi and does 45mpg+. the v6 does sound much nicer, but my diesel sounds pretty beast as long as its under load. if you ask the people who went to the rolling road day, it sounds like a v8 scania truck with a straight pipe :p. the only reason i got a diesel was because the 220 was £1500 more expensive to insure. tbh the st220 doesn't feel as fast so i'll just be getting a v6 tt japanese car next anyway. :p

torque= acceleration power=top speed.p

It's not that simple.

Torque is the twisting force that an engine produces. When you introduce RPMs into the mix, horsepower is created. High torque at low RPMs requires different gearing, which will affect acceleration. More power over a wider rev range will generally produce better acceleration, when all other factors are at least very similar.

The diesel might be able to provide more torque to the wheels at 50mph in 5th gear allowing it to accelerate faster to 70mph than the petrol version for example, but this isn't so relevant when the other car is allowed to change gear.

A diesel vs petrol debate.

Makes me sad :(

It always happens because a lot of idiots in the UK now believe that Diesels are are better in every way than petrol. :(
They try to put aside the fact they bought them for mpg by then claiming all there Torque makes it super fast just because the turbo gives abit of a kick when they boot it compared to revving a petrol.
The ST220 can take off to 30 in 1st and then touch 70 in 2nd. The diesel version would be in about 5th gear by then lol and all that gear changing effects the acceleration.

actually it does 132mph in fifth gear :) i think 3rd would be 70 :).
Mines is a remapped 2.2 TDCi. Regardless, does me for what it is. Perky enough while still being economical.
i thought you had an st220. hows the flywheel and clutch hold up with the extra power? also all the hoses going to the intercooler? and the fuel pump too.
