I will definitely be getting a 1080Ti my old 980Ti has served me very very well... and indeed I will put in my son's PC that will be a nice upgrade for him too moving from a 780Ti

1080Ti looks like a beast of an upgrade for me.

My only dilemma is whether or not to go for the Founders edition or wait for the AIB cards? "I have always went AIB" but I really like the look of that stock cooler blowing hot air out... Not dumping it the case - not that I have ever had a issue with that. But I have always wondered if I would get better temps with a blower.

Granted £650+ is a lot of money to test... should or shouldn't I go for the stock blower "that's party why I always went MSI/EVGA AIB"

Any advice from the Guru's on this dilemma please.

It's going to cost you more than £650

^^

Just watch the member markets and ebay etc. to see titan XP owners trying to flog their gpus for £900+ still :p :D

IIRC, this happened last year with the 980ti, heck it also happened with the 1070, people were trying to flog their 980tis for the same price or some even dearer than what the 1070 was costing! :D

Interesting to see so meny waiting on VEGA smart choice. For Nvidia to release the 1080ti at a "Cut Price" and also faster than the top tier GPU "Titan XP" YOu would think Nvidia has some inside information about VEGA performance! They didn't need to cut prices on the 1080 if they was confident enough the VEGA was a poor show.

The biggest news I take from this event and very happy with is all DX12 GPUs will now support GPU based PhysX or GameWorks About bloody time Nvidia. Now get of the high horse and enable Adaptive-sync for all your user base :D

It could well be a smart choice to wait for Vega but having nothing coming out of RTG was a little deflating. I understand they are releasing Ryzen and it looks to be a serious piece of kit and massive kudos to that but some news would have been great about Vega just to whet appetites. I stick by what I have said time and again though and I really do hope Vega kicks the TXP's butts and gives AMD the much needed funds to go toe to toe with Intel and NVidia. Much better for us consumers in the long run.

Bet the people who bought the TXP feel a bit stupid haha

No I don't think so, they understand that they are paying top price for top performance at that point in time which is worth more to them than the cost of the cards. Grapahical artisits, games developers, pro gamers and wealthy consumers. To some people £1200 is not a lot of money

I agree but the way AMD and Vega is reading to consumers right now is that they have a roadmap of products but nothing to show right now i.e. it sends out the wrong message imho.

It is coming and that price is bloody fantastic!

Anyway as no surprise, 1080 PRICE DROP and 1070 FE PRICE DROP ACTIONED ON OcUK, NOW LIVE! :)

1080 from £488.99 shipped!
1070 from £359.99 shipped!

Good times! :)

Unfortunatley I decided to watercool 3 months after buying the card which was a G1 980ti (£630 at the time of purchase)
The waterblock & backplate was a further £125

Knowing what I know now I would just get a standard blower type card.

Indeed. With a standard blower the noise makes you slap a block on it asap.

I always think of my watercooling bits as a luxury and don't think about the costs, or take them into consideration when upgrading.

Vast majority of TXP blocks/backplates have sold out too!

On a side note, anyone know when the Ti's will be available to pre-order? :p
