Not exactly a twist was it. I do disagree with you (not uncommon) enough time has passed for it to be beaten.

I actually didn't think it was on last time with the 980ti coming out so soon after the titan, but I benefitted from it by picking up a fantastic card.

Are you considering a ti?

Why would I want a Ti? I would never spend over £600+ on a GPU.
All i care about when upgrading is if the upgrade is beneficial going from a 290 to Vega and more than sure it will be.
I couldn't care less if the 1080 ti is 20fps faster it's hardly game changing.

Plus I have a 1440p 144hz Freesync monitor that very happy with.

So you won't ever consider nvidia? I'm sure a £600 one will be available if Vega Disappoints.

Not until they change how they approach things.. Opening up Gameworks is one step in the right direction..
Until I feel Nvidia give a damm about PC gaming and not just profit I might actually give them my money.

I very much prefer how AMD handle things..

Won't be purchasing one as i've never been one to get the high end cards (wallet will cry if I do that) however, I will be watching this to see how it affects the market and will hope that Vega isn't a flop. More than likely the card for me is either Vega or 1070 (leaning towards Vega at the moment but time will tell).

Each to their own I suppose. I completely dislike how AMD behave but I would still consider them if they had anything worth buying.

My x34a would benefit from a Ti. :)

The 1070 works well but doesn't get me to the 100Hz refresh rate on max settings and my 6700k @ 4.6Ghz isn't stressed as the gpu is already at 100%

yes, well possibly.. Might be worthwhile for vr alone and depending on how well it compares to my 980ti sli setup once I see benchmarks I might just have to sell up and get myself a 1080ti.

Exactly my thoughts, overpromise, under deliver - but if they did deliver a game changer I'd give it a go. I prefer nvidia because my experience with them has been far better, but I'm not going to rule out other options if they were attractive enough. It's stupid to declare endless blind loyalty to a company.

I am not going to buy Nvidia cards anymore as the latest and greatest are utterly gimped purposefully via drivers as early as 12 months after release.

Its not even £1200 when all is said and done, they should be able to sell them for £800 so they have effectively paid 400 for 12 months of gaming: £33 quid a month to play with the best of the best, which for people with decent income is relly nothing. How much does their internet, mobile phone, cable TV, Netflix, etc. come up to each month?

A lot of TXP owners may also not have another serious hobbies, so if threy throw their cahs at a top end gaming PC it works out much cheaper than many other sports and hobbies. I have £15K's worth of camera equipment for example, some people I know have well over 30K in lenses, other have 10-12K in pedal bikes.

Don't get me started on cameras !!!

Many years ago I had a pair of Mamiya RZ67s and a full set of lenses including a shift lens and yes it was a very expensive hobby !!!

Must be honest I was expecting the Ti to release but I wasn't expecting it to be faster than the XP

Not faster NVidia were very crafty how they pitched this.:D

Water cooled Pascal Titans run consistently @2100mhz on the core without throttling. NVidia were very careful to avoid this comparison.

Obviously if you water cool a 1080 Ti it will run @2100mhz too but will still lose out on ROPs and bus size.:)

Having said that the difference will be tiny and a bargain for the £700 asking price.

None of this means us Titan owners are suddenly going to stop using our cards or feel hard done by as we have already had 7 months use out of our cards.:)

How is it trash? Titan XP was £1200 Ti is £700..

Actually the Pascal Titan at launch was £1099 and available, the 1080 Ti was just guess work at the time and totally unavailable at any price.

If you wanted the best possible gaming experience 7 months ago the Pascal Titan was a very good buy as there were no other options available.

The people who bought the Pascal Titan would rather use their cards for gaming than post negative remarks on forums.

Having said that the 1080 Ti at around £700 is a bargain and any gaming enthusiast would be unwise not to consider getting one.

I think I'll probably get one. If it wasn't for VR I would stick to my gtx980ti which is still great for everything I throw at it on 2560x1440p 144hz.

Sadly, I like driving games and flight sims and they require super sampling to get any decent kind of image that lets you read the smaller instruments properly but that results in vomit inducing frame rates. The gtx1080ti had to be a decent improvement on the gtx1080 for me to contemplate it for an upgrade and it would appear to be just that. Looking forward to some solid reviews and some non reference cooler equipped 1080tis!
