This happens every generation though so I'm sure the TX buyers were more then aware that a Ti would be released at a much lower price point at some point.

in the past the titan was around £750-800 or so only £200 more than the Ti

£1100 is a big jump if the 1080 Ti is in the 650-700 range

...and in the past the Ti came out much sooner after the Titan, I doubt many people who bought TXP's on release are that bothered.

No I don't think so, they understand that they are paying top price for top performance at that point in time which is worth more to them than the cost of the cards. Grapahical artisits, games developers, pro gamers and wealthy consumers. To some people £1200 is not a lot of money
Its not even £1200 when all is said and done, they should be able to sell them for £800 so they have effectively paid 400 for 12 months of gaming: £33 quid a month to play with the best of the best, which for people with decent income is relly nothing. How much does their internet, mobile phone, cable TV, Netflix, etc. come up to each month?

A lot of TXP owners may also not have another serious hobbies, so if threy throw their cahs at a top end gaming PC it works out much cheaper than many other sports and hobbies. I have £15K's worth of camera equipment for example, some people I know have well over 30K in lenses, other have 10-12K in pedal bikes.

Wha?? It has only been out for 7 months no? Now go redo the math :p

How can you sell a Titan XP for 800 more than a 1080ti that is also slower? That premium pricing is now worth less than a ti and is more in line with a 1080 wow

Said this last time and got jumped on for it, people buying the highend GPU for that price should remain highend for that generation.
Releasing a GPU that cost much less and is faster is very disappointing for them premium members.

Don't care what anyone here says who will defend this it's wrong end off.

Must be honest I was expecting the Ti to release but I wasn't expecting it to be faster than the XP

This is why I firmly believe Nvidia has some inside info about VEGA performance the shift I'm prices and release doesn't make sense to me..

My opinion feel free to disagree.

If AMD did the same you would be praising them.

Titan has been top for 7 or 8 months, it was bound to be replaced, it would suck for consumers if it didn't as it would mean lack of progress.

I wouldn't matter of a fact I disagreed with dual GPU 1200£
So nice try for twisting

Listen the Top end XP should remain the Top end for that generation.
Had the 1180 released this month I would be like OK new generation, perfectly fine.

This is the same generation, the resell value of the XP now is a complete joke. In my eye nvidia isn't giving there premium members enough credit they deserve. Just a cash and grab without a thank you it sucks.
Again you free to disagree.

Makes perfect sense, as its normal for stuff thats been out a long time to go down in price, Vega' got nothing to do with it.
Not really. The 780 TI was also faster than the original TItan. I suspected this time around Nvidia might do the same, as it was the first of a new architecture (smaller node). As others have said, the TXP still has some advantages. Think it's also been longer since the TXP hit the market this time that the Ti is arriving. Anyone with a TXP do not need to upgrade, those with the 1080's will be more tempted. So people will TXP's have had very top end gaming for 6 or so months.
Who knows, maybe volta (corrrected - not vega) will soon be upon us too, sooner than the gap between the 980 Ti and 1080 which will then have a similar effect on the 1080 Ti which will again be beaten by a medium range card

I own a TXP but happy of the step forward as it will hopefully mean when I do upgrade again the jump will be bigger. Personally I'd rather go the *80 non Ti of each gen or the Titan than the Ti as the Ti has the shortest lifespan of a generation. Pascal, is already approx. 9 months old now

Not exactly a twist was it. I do disagree with you (not uncommon) enough time has passed for it to be beaten.

I actually didn't think it was on last time with the 980ti coming out so soon after the titan, but I benefitted from it by picking up a fantastic card.

Are you considering a ti?

By the time people sell theirs it they may well have had it 6 months, 1080 owners longer.
The point was about TXP which has been out since August. Hence if you are going to make a point with how much it costs per month, might as well get it right :p
