Who will be the new Doctor?

Smells like a half-baked attempt to replace Tennent like for like to me. Not a fan of the cop-out choice, or the yoof direction the BBC has forced the show down. Here's hoping for a surprise in 2010.

Warning, warning, change rage in progress....

At least it's not as bad here as it is on digitalspy...

Jeez, what a bad choice. He's young enough for Donna or Rose to get arrested for hanging out with him in enclosed spaces.

Anyone else think his head has a slightly weird appearence to it? Dunno what it is, his face or head just looked overly large for some reason.

Give the guy a chance before writing him off. He's got to be better than Peter Davison, Colin Baker or Sylvester McCoy...

I quite liked Peter Davidson, the other two were pretty poor but even they grew on me, the worst casting ever has to be that fat bint who played Ace and if I could watch episodes with her in (and Bonnie Langford for that matter) then I'm sure I can put up with Matt Smith.

Oi! Spanner, works and all that.

........and  again!!!!:D

Told a female friend over MSN (she's a Dr Who fan) and her instant responce was "wow he is hot".

I don't see it.

Until we see his first episode we won't know how good he'll be but he should get some decent scripts now that Moffats in charge. Add an attractive female that can actually act, not a mouthy ginger bint, and it should at least be better than the last two series.

I cant figure out how the tardis will fare now, surely a nut that size must have its own gravitational field? Tardis is gonna tear itself apart. :(

Loved the BBC program earlier where they lauded most of the performances and just glossed over Davidson, Baker (Colin)and McCoy.

I personally hope that there may be a return to some of the gravitas of earlier Doctors and less of the running around / snogging / hysterics.

Ho hum :)

Well, unusual choice but I think we have been spoilt by the last two doctors.
His head is humungous so I guess the year before he starts may involve opening up the tardis doors a tad ;)

In a strange way he looks a bit like David T, so hopefully he will get some good advice from the current doctor on how to get off on the right foot with the public.

I am reserving judgement until 2010 and will enjoy the specials that will be on screen this year.
