Why are YOU single?

Why am I single? Because I'm not in a relationship :p

I get moments when I think "boo, I wish I wasn't single" but most of the time I'm quite happy being single. I work hard, I train hard, I have a good bunch of friends and don't really feel the need for anyone. IF someone comes into my life and makes me think "damn! she can break my heart any day!" or something like that then great, until then I'm just plodding along fine. Doesn't stop me having fun either ;) I guess I'm not looking, but I never look, which is probably why I am single! lol!

I'm possibly too independent and a bit selfish so I prefer being just me, myself and I, a lot of the time. I kinda want my cake and eat it, so be in a relationship when I'm in the mood, but then be single at other times. So to save heartache and upsetting anyway I keep my distance, unless of course I find a like minded lady who doesn't mind ;) Ahem :o
 
I'm not very good at meeting people, can be a bit shy also, and sometimes find it hard to find people around here I have a lot of common interests with (FAAAAR too many chavs, most of whom interest me about as much as cutting bits out of myself), can also be overcritical/apologetic when I guess I dont really need to be.

Did find a girl recently who I got on exceptionally well with an had a lot of common interests, but she ended up going out with another bloke as she simply lived too far away for it to be a decent relationship.
 
All you shy people, get away from your computer and get out there and talk to people!! Stop blaming it on shyness - it's not an excuse as far as I'm concerned. I have very low self esteem but I'm not shy (I can't be in my job anyway) however don't let self esteem turn you into a recluse. Shyness is just another word for being socially immature - so go out and develop some social maturity instead of spending every hour of the day on the forums!

Some of us can't at the given time as we're working ;)
Hell I'm usually ok once the ice is broken, as I mention its very hard to find people around here I genuinely feel the want to give a major shot at; I don't want a braindead girl whos going to get her mates to lynch me as soon as I come back from a concert :P
(and perhaps that seems a bit critical, but me and others I know have been selected out before now, because of our music tastes)

Yes but some/a lot of people here, aren't working and could go out with a few friends and let things happen you never know. I aim this at people who complain at not meeting anyone. You can get over shyness you just have to take your first steps - it's not like a switch, but over time it gets a lot easier to not worry about it.

What if i don't want to go out though? I have absolutely no desire to go out to a pub/club/bar. In fact i dread the time a mate asks me to go out. I find it more of a chore than enjoyment.

I look forward to going out up town as much as I do going to have a tooth pulled at the dentist!
