I had to sit behind this on the M40 for about 10 minutes earlier this year. I wasn't happy.

Isnt that illegal lol?

Yes, trucks should stay out of the BMW lane. ;) :D

Tbh, looks like a foreigner.

Anything over 3.5ton is banned from the outside lane iirc - not that many 7.5ton drivers know this!

I totaly disgree. The driver on the right should not have attempted the overtake if he couldn't complete it quickly without the other driver having to slow down.

In a perfect world, perhaps.

Unfortunately, their is no law barring HGV's from overtaking each other.

The guy being overtaken should have just lifted off a tad - it only takes a speed drop of 1 - 2 mph for the other truck to be past & away in seconds.

You can't complete much in an HGV quickly.

Thought so lol, never seen a lorry down here in the outside lane but see plenty of those mid sized and big home removals trucks in the outside lane and surely theyre over 3.5 tones?

lol BMW lane :p

The two drivers are actually playing charades with each other. They need to be able to see into each other's cab for the game to work. DUH!

7.5 ton - Not allowed in the outside lane anymore.

3.5 ton - Allowed to drive in the outside lane.

Looks like the M54 at any given time. Lorries always hogging both lanes. Really annoys me.

Quite agree.

You could always expect trucks to do this, and allow for it when planning your journey time. ;)

i had this once all the way to silverstone from london..... it was almost as if they was doing it on purpose to make me late.... couldnt even undertake because they was side by side almost all the way there.

At some point I would like to pop in front of the trucks and slow down to annoying speeds, and not let the ****head overtake either.

On the motorway three trucks in three lanes, for about 6-8 minutes. Inconsiderate to say the least.

Trust me, truckers do not try to impede the progress of cars - well, this one does not!

Glad you didn't try to undertake, you'd have been sorry if he'd decided to cut back in whilst you were doing so wouldn't you?

I'd expect a gentle nudge if I did that - knowing truckers 'n all. :D

As I've said, its illegal & wrong, no excuse. Kill 'em with fire. ;)

I do actually expect it now, and give allowances for when I travel to Birmingham on work. But still, doesn't stop me from calling them *******!

Wouldnt that be enough to stop them and get the cops ? Well maybe not stop them, but report them.

provided you kept control after the "gentle tap" from the rear, I watched an Italian in a 44 ton Iveco do this on the M20 a few years back, the poor (but bloody daft) car driver who provoked the situation by braking in front of him ended up in the barrier.

The Italian carried on, I got his number, reported him, but, never got any comeback from Kent Police.

when lorry drivers do that to me I flash my lights and give them a polite middle finger when i eventually get past

I'm sure the driver then has to pull over to have a good cry over your actions.... :p :D

You get gestures when driving an artic from car drivers when your doing nothing wrong, most just have no clue about what it is like behind the wheel of something so long, large & heavy.

An hour in an HGV should be a part of the driving test, the same could be said for Motorbikes also. We'd get far better driving standards if all road users had an idea about how it is for the other guy.
