So, what's the best alternative if FF uses ads?
Wow, just wow.Ladybird was supposed to be the next big thing that's built from the ground up to give browsing back to the user but it all turned into a **** show.
It's had big financial backing from the founder of github, then there was the controversy that the developer has health and drugs issues then this crazy shizzle happened.

The first Alpha release of the new ladybird browser is expected in 2026, sigh!![]()
Can somebody else test this for me please?
Open Firefox normally, then open a new private window in Firefox, so you now have 1 normal and 1 private window open at the same time. In the private window download something. With the download complete, close the private window so you just have the normal Firefox window open. Now open another private window in Firefox and check your download history - does the file you downloaded still show? It does for me.![]()
After restarting Windows, it's not doing it for me any more. Not showing in download history for me after closing and reopening a private window.
I switched. Don't trust chrome anymore
Not speaking for Simon Belmont but for me personally chrome has always been a no go because it's developed by an advertising company. What don't you trust?

True, it's odd how so many people don't see the value of a web browser considering the amount of time most of us spend with it and how complex they've become. The frustrating issue is that Mozilla are pretty much (currently) reliant on that advertising company for the search deal that gives them a signfiicant chunk of money. I remember reading (a few years back now) that Google paid around 80ish% of the Foundations money.
