That in turn means that the end of the line for some legacy OSes is creeping nearer. The previous ESR, Firefox 115 from July 2023, was the last version for Windows 7 and 8.x as well as macOS 10.13 "High Sierra" and 10.14 "Mojave." That old Firefox is still in maintenance. The latest point release, Firefox 115.25.0, appeared on June 23 – so those old PCs and Macs still have a reasonably safe current browser for now. As we reported when version 128 came out, the team is keeping 115 alive as long as they can. One estimate says that the 2023 ESR will get updates until this coming September.

Personally not a fan of the "Show search terms in the address bar on results pages" either - I like to see the whole original URL. At least it is pretty easy to setup things how you want though.

It's definitely because of Youtube trying to block uBlock I think - I noticed this, my Premium lapsed after being kicked out of India and the instant it did Youtube videos took an age to load and I had the same in Chrome with uBlock still enabled. Took the hit and repurchased Premium because my family use it and it went back to normal immediately.

Yeah it's just google, sorry alphabet, after 'more money' even though they have 150 BILLION in cash reserves (according to online info).... they clearly haven't got enough money from just using our online data habits.

I'm not paying, the ads are ridiculous these days and they get enough 'value' out of me from me using google search etc for how much I use youtube. I'd happily swap if there was an alternative but youtube might as well be a monopoly for it's topics.
 
Still happy with Firefox for the most part. As for YouTube I just use FreeTube. It is a cat and mouse game with Google doing something to break it and the FreeTube devs releasing an update to fix it but I don't care as long as I don't have to deal with their adverts. I don't watch a massive amount on YT anyway so it's never been much of an issue for me.

I couldn't say for sure as I just subscribed to the channels I was previously using on YT, so I see new videos from those channels but haven't noticed anything that isn't from my sub list. Given that, I'd probably say no, but there is a 'Trending' and 'Most Popular' list and if there's something you particularly want to watch you can grab the URL from YT and paste it into FreeTube.
 
Looks like chrome has finally disabled ublock origin for many users today including myself, I will never browse without an adblocker, so I have moved over to Firefox. Bye chrome.

I made the switch last year, never looked back. Firefox was always good to me in the Windows 98/Linux days, and continues to be :)
 
15 years of almost exclusivly using Chome, ditched and switched to Firefox as of today.

Chrome has been acting odd for the past 3 - 6 months with what seems to be deliberate slowdown and issues because i insisted on using uBlock, latest issue was some imgur images loading like a 56k modem.
