Wife sold house

If fraud is involved somewhere down the line neither of you may get a penny.

True but that is a great response. Thought I was doing the right thing and then boom she has to she's at it with some other maintenance and stuff.

I must have paid over 20k in the last few years from my bank to hers ref kids maintenance. She was claiming am I correct she has too declare that to dwp ?

Its something that happens if we get a special request from the shop/legal team to remove an account for particular reasons.

I'm guessing someone got caught scalping GPUs? Naughty boy!

Yes, she definitely should have, and if she were to get "anonymously" reported, would likely have to pay any overpayments back

Grassing is never a good thing to do. You won't gain anything from doing it.

If she even thinks it was you, all hell will break loose.

Without reading the rest of the thread, you could be entitled to an equitable share of the sale proceeds even if you weren’t married, depending on contributions and expectations etc.

It’s presumably complicated so speak with an advisor.

Suppose it depends which one of you was doing the fraud. Where there dodgy dealings around the mortgage? Be careful what might be uncovered if things aren't all above board.

Still confused how you only found out about this house sale just now when it was sold 2 years ago?

Do you not communicate with her at all over your kids that you have with her?? Surely if your paying maintenance for children etc - you would know if they have moved address/changed living arrangements??

When it comes to child maintenance you need to have everything going through the right channels. If you don't there is a large risk that you can give your baby momma a lot of money and she can then ask for the child maintenance. Happened to my brother years ago.

As to the house. Its a weird one. You say that you would be happy for her to stay in the house indefinitely but you aren't happy for her to sell it and get somewhere else with that money. No judgement here, just a strange perspective. I would be very surprised if you are not entitled to 50% of the house from the marriage especially if you can prove that you were either an equal or majority contributor to the mortgage/house upkeep.

Not a lawyer and as everyone says. Get one.

Depends if she is intending to get somewhere else with that money, or is planning to rent a ****hole for his kids to live in and spend all the money on herself?

On the basis you were married / co-habiting and contributed towards the mortgage or home costs, you need to read up on resulting and constructive trusts. See if you can fit the scenarios into your own and work out what you might be owed, if anything.

Factor in the value of the equity when sold, the level of contributions you made towards the mortgage and or improvements to the value of the property, but less average living costs.

You need quite a bit of equity to make any legal action worth it.

IANAL but just petition for divorce…you’ll share costs and sweep up any other mess at the same time. I would guess that this is a cheaper way to achieve the same end.

Any other course is surely just suing your wife which is a bit lol.Can you imagine what Judge Judy would have to say about that :D
