Will Smith hits Chris Rock on Oscars stage

You literally said it's not a big deal because it's common.
For most men it isn't a big deal. My comment was in reply to your question to me on why is it OK for men to lose their hair but not for women. I was explaining that the impact to women is much higher because it is uncommon and generally considered an illness.

Why is it OK for men to lose their hair but not women?

Please show me where I said it is OK to mock something just because it is common. For example cancer is very common but it is certainly not appropriate to make jokes about someone due to it. Don't paraphrase using your own interpretation but directly quote what I said please.

As typos go, that’s a doozy.
Colour me cynical but with the maxim “There’s no such thing as bad publicity” I wouldn’t be surprised if Chris and Will planned that before the show.
If that wasn’t the case then they were both in the wrong, probably Will more than Chris, and to those who say that Will wouldn’t have reacted like that if Jason Statham had made that crack it’s worth remembering that Statham is known for playing tough guys, not necessarily being one.
If I was out with my wife and Statham called her an ugly **** I’d give him a smack in the mouth even if I knew only too well that his minders would kick the carp out of me.
I don’t think that telling him to apologise would be enough to satisfy me.

:D

I doubt they set it up, Will Smith is a broken man.

He's in a horrible situation, his wife has full control over who she sleeps with, he has none. In past interviews she's gone on about her amazing chemistry regarding her relationship with Tupac while Will Smith stays quiet, in the same discussion she's gone one further to make it clear Will Smith doesn't satisfy her in bed.

Sounds like a toxic relationship to me, he should have ended it years ago, it's clearly taken it's toll and he just snapped today... He needs to dump her ass and move on.

My question was 'why is it OK to mock bald men but not women'?

Your response was 'its common in men'.

There's no paraphrasing there. It was the first sentence of your reply to my question.

Is the joke bad taste? Yes
Did Will Smith laugh about it? Yes
Is it okay to hit someone over a joke? No.

But you are saying yes, because the joke is mocking his wife. Is that the line is it? that it is okay to resort to violence when a woman's hairline is the subject, what's next? all jokes banned? Because most humour comes from an element of truth, that's why it is funny. Someone will be at the firing line of it. The context here is the her illness is not a secret, the context here is that she is open about it, the context here is that she has previously said on social media that "they can make fun about it now", it being her baldness.

So Chris Rock did, and didn't even mention the illness, just a quick GI Jane reference.

But, what you are saying is that violence is fine when it comes to your wife's illness, one which she is open about it, one where she "invited" the joke herself.

Am I reading that right?

No. Your question was not why is it OK to mock balding men. Your question, which I quoted above and quote again below, was why is it OK for men to lose their hair but not OK for women to lose their hair.

Why is it OK for men to lose their hair but not women?

This is a direct quote. Perhaps that is what you meant to ask but it is not what you asked.

We are talking about mocking them, that's literally the topic of this thread...

If you ask a question on a debating forum you need to be clear on what you are asking. Others shouldn't need to guess what you are asking, especially if you are going to then pick them up on points they haven't said.

So let's leave this here. I don't see any value in discussing it further.

Oh god the world, and ocuk, collectively crapping their pants over freedom of speech alla jokes are jokes, blah blah etc etc.
Comedians scared they will be executed on stage for daring to say the wrong thing.
Black on black stereotypical violence.
Kuks gonna kuk.
It's all so 2022 delicious.
Light releif from Ukraine and hyperinflation for a news cycle.

This is hardly a debating forum, its a general diacussion forum.
Basically what your post is here is a cop-out. You've either missed, forgotten, ignored or mucked up on the whole context of the thread. Provided a response that you're back pedalling over and now don't see the value in discussing it...lol. Weak.

Instead of slapping Chris rock, I would have grabbed the mic off of him and busted out a few of my own joke's about her Lol.

How is Will Smith still married to this toxic woman...

thinking about it, the entire audience should have been booing really, this joke is so rubbish
it's actually bullying.

if this is'nt all staged which it all may be. Will Smith should have been ejected from the
event and then arrested for physical abuse, imho. looked like a crime was commited
in most countries.

what if Chris Rock faught back. going to dead air and a failed event, not good.

I think will is a broken man and sadly his wife has everything to blame for that I think... Poor bloke. Being at the top wont be easy

I have directly quoted your question to me and explained the answers I gave. You have shown the question you thought you asked was not the question you actually asked. I have not back pedalled and have replied to each of your questions but you are now trying to save face.
