Wimbledon 2006 **SPOILERS**

I seem to remember helping you stick up for Henman last year as well lol. Good player, never a true great, but the best we had for a very long time and that amount of time in the top ten is a great achievement. As for Murray, he could well be better, but he'll have a long way to go to beat Henman's record. Hope he does, he could well be a grandslam winner if he get's the right coach in now and sorts his slight attitude problem out. Funny feeling that he might stand a better chance of winning one of the other three rather than wimbledon though.

Yes I remember last year as well. The Henman bashers come out every year

This Murray kid has a lot of growing up to do both on and off the court. He has to get this whole hating the English thing out of his head. For the record, I'm Welsh and support Henman all the way and I was gutted when England went out of the world cup. I am not a part of this stupid rivalry/hatred between neighbouring countries.

Amazing the number of tennis "experts" that appear during Wimbledon.

Roddick has been in poor form recently plus he's had an injury. Roddick only converted 1 out of 12 (yes 12!) break points against Murray. The match was a lot closer than the score suggested. And if you know anything about tennis at all you'll see from the match that Roddick was nowhere near his best. He was trying to play at the net when he should've done what he does best and stay at the baseline and worn Murray down. Instead he kept rushing to the net on some terrible approach shots, which allowed Murray to simply put the ball past him without any pressure.

I don't think that anyone was trying to claim that Murray winning against Roddick announced him as the best thing ever, Roddick may not have been in great form but he still is/was one of the top ranked players in the world and it is good for British tennis if someone from the UK can beat a much higher ranked player. If a player plays a bad game where he practically beats himself as you suggest Roddick did here then that isn't a reason not to take an easy passage into the next round.

As for Murray's attitude, I don't think we know fully in what manner any of his supposedly anti-English comments were made, it sounds to be the tabloids creating a stir out of a few innocuous jokes but where is the surprise in that. It is odd, Henman got castigated for a lack of passion and not having enough personality so now and then Murray shows a bit of fire and expresses his opinions even if you don't always agree with them(comments about himself playing badly being like womens tennis) he gets vilified for it. It seems to me you can't win, the tabloids are just there to knock sportsmen down an awful lot of time or build them up to unrealistic proportions.

Hewitt will be alright. Losing the 1st set in a 5 set match isn't a big deal. It's better to lose 6-1 or 6-0 than 7-6.

any breaks of serve in the doubles final set or is that 36 holds in a row?

Knowles has just accused the umpire in the doubles match of taking bribes from the other team

He wasnt happy with a decision the umpire over ruled and he said "come on tell us how much they are paying you"

He's lucky he wasnt asked to leave
