Wimbledon 2018

I just hope he doesn't drop off against Isner in the semis. That usually happens after most giant killings.

Either way, it's hard to see past the winner of Rafa/Novak winning the whole thing. They generally don't have any problems with the big servers.

Right then, the two ladies semi finals. :)

Kerber v Ostapenko starting now. I think Ostapenko will take this.

And then Serena v Gorges at 2.15pm should be epic with Serena no doubt winning, although it would great if it was an upset like the Federer match yesterday.

Hmm, Ostapenko lost first set 6-3.
Let's see what the next set brings.

Oh dear, 4-1 to Kerber. Finish line in sight.

I would have said the same before the match started.

I thought yesterday, if any of the remaining players stands a chance of beating Serena, then it would be Ostapenko; but then today, she goes and fails to turn up until it's all but too late.... :/

Goerges is much better looking though and doesn't have tree trunk legs. :p

Speaking of that, Halep had to have a breast reduction because they were too big for her body size and were limiting her ability to move quickly enough. Seemed to work out pretty well for her. :p

Yes, Serena is as attractive as a pregnant elephant. :D

Shame Goerges couldn't make more of that chance. I suppose it's not surprising; first grand slam final opportunity against the most formidable opponent there is in the women's game. :p

Would have liked to have seen an all German final. Most likely would have made for a more interesting contest than the one I'm expecting between Kerber and hippo legs.

Speaking of taking chances; I'm surprised Anderson played as well as he did for as long as he did against Federer. I expected his level to drop in the 5th, but he kept going.

I feel like we've been robbed of a good final this year. Had Federer made it through his half it could have been epic. Instead, whoever wins this first Semi is going to get trounced by the winner of the second Semi. Can we just accept that nobody cares who wins in the first semi, and just move the second one to Sunday and call it the final?

Nothing is going to top the Delpo v Nadal quarter final match for it's quality and entertainment though.

Isner's ground strokes are so average for a player in the semi-final. He'd be lucky to get through the opening round if he didn't have his serve. Hopefully Anderson wins, he at least has some decent shots to back up his big serving.

Totally agree. Big serving aside, Anderson played some great shots against Federer. Isner to me looks like he is totally reliant on his massive serve.

I'm glad massive server's are not among the very top players; would be a bore fest for the top player to keep on winning tournaments purely because no one else can return his serve.
