TBF, it is rare that this happens. So you have to weigh up if avoiding this sort of rare situation makes it worth nerfing the end of 'normal' five set contests.

Would that include the final? What if it was 12-12 in a final but it was legitimately good tennis, from a spectator's point of view, and not just big serve vs big serve? There's also the option of starting play earlier (although obviously this match would still have eaten into the evening).
There's an absolute cutoff at 23.30 regardless of what happens. I remember many, many years ago when a match was running late, someone from the tennis club appealed for a temporary exemption from the Council to let the match continue, but it was a no go. Anyone remember that match?
