1. Recently made the transition from poor student to poor unemployed person who's chosen industry ain't doing so well at the moment.

2. every time i see a 'spec me something decent' thread, i see corsair in there somewhere. everyone i talk too who knows a bit about custom pc building, 'Corsair' and '[good/excellent/amazing] quality' always seem to crop up in the same sentence. Their products look professional, their specs and performance back this up, and the prices suggest they mean business. Take this psu:
- high wattage, and it can take it ;)
- modular, nuff said
- 80 plus gold, not many psus can do this, and the ones that can are similar quality levels
- fanless operation at low loads. this i really approve of. Guess that high efficiency keeps it cool
-military components, ok this one may be a bit of marketing hype, but nice to know its been thought about...

Because I own a white NZXT PSU in a Black/Blue themed system, it also does have enough power for overclocking my CPU and GPUs. +It's Corsair.

Quality components, excellent RMA service in my past experience, 7 years warranty!! Yes please. Quick search showed that its an excellent PSU. It is quiet and being a modular psu is also a plus keeping wires to the minimum.

Right at the beginning of 2011, I was round at my friend's house on his PC. I went to the back of it and for some reason that has always been beyond me, I flicked a red switch causing the PSU to blow up in both our faces. This meant that I felt obliged to give him my one which was roughly the same - albeit newer. (It was about 500/600W) Since then, I've been stuck with a 225W psu that came standard with my PC. I recently spent £80 on a new Radeon HD 6790 to find out I didn't have enough power to run it! I never got round to sending it back so its been in my room for a few months now waiting for me to scrounge enough money for a new PSU. If I get this Corsair, I will finally be able to enjoy my new graphics card and play games at something higher than minimum settings! xD

Corsair would not give a 7 year warranty if they were not sure that their PSU's are reliable and robust.
