Well after the "Faildozer" I never even thought of getting myself an AMD chip, but then I saw the benchmark thread that showed the astounding power of the APU, and it really interested me; I could get myself the APU by itself in a neat little motherboard, 4Gb of RAM and BAM right in the budget. That is to say, these new APUs would kick butt as a budget gaming rig, as they've already been shown to show seriously surprising speed in a variety of modern games. And down the line? Crossfire with an extra card and I'd have myself a really nice budget rig to be proud of. Great performance for the price from team red, looking forward to them for sure.

I've been seriously looking at building a HTPC in recent months and have been struggling to decide what processor to go for to watch HD films and play games at good framerates on high settings.
After reading some reviews I decided this is the one as it has low power draw and can be overclocked into a powerful little grunt. It will finally give Intel some serious competition in the budget market whilst staying high in performance, compact and cheaper to run for the budget gamer.

This will allow me to stop carting my computer down to the living room to watch DVDs and stroll the tinterweb when the playstation decides it doesn't want to find my computer on the network! It will also give me and my house mates the chance to play stunning games on the "big TV".

I'm looking to build my girlfriend a new PC for Christmas and these parts would go in the build perfectly, she bought herself a mac 2 years ago, now it's clogged with dust, overheats all the time and makes playing anything with her impossible. Feel bad for her because she actually wasted money on a mac :(

it would benefit my friends, not me, unless i've already spoilt all of them ^^ in that case, id make a powerful htpc for the living room

This new set of hardware is so great for the power/price level my fiance' wouldn't mind me building a new pc and using this as the heart of it!

to be able to build my brother a decent spec uni (long distance vancouver to south east england) pc and be able to play together to keep intouch without having to buy graphics cards and expensive intel options

finally an onboard solution from AMD that won't get laughed at. Powerful combination at a great price that's also "green". Even if i don't win, i'll probablybuild a mini pc around it for my "office". The fact i can game on it too won't enter my mind! ;-)

I've been waiting for AMD to come back after being a life-long fan, the time is now. I'd love to build this for my brother, he's currently saving money for a machine setup in time for Christmas, but he is a little short so far - this would certainly help him out. It would give me chance to preview the setup, see how good it is and no doubt get another one!
