*WIN* Bitfenix Shinobi XL Gaming Case! *RUNNER UP PRIZE ADDED - SHINOBI USB 3.0 ** - WINNER ANNOUNC

Awesome comp. I am currently looking for all the components I want for a new build, which will be watercooled.

So, what I'd put in for watercooling would be:
1x XSPC EX240 in the front
1 x XSPC EX360 in the roof
1 x EK Supreme HF CPU waterblock - Nickel acetal
1 x Laing D5 vario pump - T12 12V DC pump
1 x alphacool HF D5 top - Black Acetal G1/4
1 x Phobya 5.25" Single Bay reservoir
12 x EK compression fittings - G1/4 - Nickel
Masterkleer tubing - UV reactive blue
Mayhem X1 UV Blue
5 x Akasa Blue led fans
1 x full cover waterblock for the graphics card, which hasn't actually been decided upon yet.

Oh wow, this case sounds Juicy, it should deserve some juicy liquid cooling, with least amount of fan cooling, and dust getting in.

I like BitFenix, and XSPC, so most of the hardware will be from them. Fans from Bitfenix, liquid cooling equipment from XSPC.

1x RayStorm CPU WaterBlock (Intel) Copper
2x XSPC Memory Waterblocks
1x EX360 Triple Fan Radiator

1x BitFenix Hydra Fan Controller
3x BitFenix Spectre Pro Fans
Blue UV Tubing
Mayhems Aurora Nebula Blue Concentrated
Custom Fan Filters

Would rather the midtower if I win :)

EK Supreme HF Easy Mount Universal CPU Waterblock
Mayhems Pastel Fluid Mint Green
Swiftech MCR220XP Extreme Performance 240mm Dual Radiator
Primochill Clear Tubing
Alphacool 5.25" Repack Single Bayres
PrimoChill Anti-Kink Coil Gloss Blue

This wasn't a competition to make it cheap was it? :P

The D5 was a no brainier in a case this size and with 600mm worth of radiator.
What big case would be complete if it didn't contain a 7970?!
Beautiful 64mm thick rad with 4 Gentle Typhoons to be mounted at the front beneath the 5.25" bays
EK Plexi block because we are going to want to see as much of Mayhems fluid as possible!
Slightly thinner 360mm rad for the top exhausting the air from the case in a push/pull config with the 6 remaining Typhoons.
Lovely black fan controller with more than enough power output for the fans.
EK 250mm reservoir to be mounted on to the front 240 radiator. (i think a bay mount res would ruin the clean look of this case)
Nothing other than Mayhems Sunset Yellow to go with a black interior FACT!
Cant hope for the rig to be silent with this many fans but you'll go on long way to may it there with these, and high flow and pressure for the thick rads.
Clear hose of course with this fluid.
High quality EK compression fittings!

Those fans would be awful for watercooling. Stick to the scythe gentle typhoons as they are the best in the business in terms of static pressure (important for radiator cooling). Also, you'll probably need 2 litres of fluid for that loop as the res is bigger than mine and I used just under 1 litre filling my loop. (same fluid)

I sure do hope that the cases go to people that are actually going to be putting there current water cooling setup in the XL or buying the equipment if they don't have it (can't see that happening for some though considering the cost of a proper water cooling setup )

What will happen to the winner if he/she doesn't bother with setting up a water cooling setup?

Just bringing this up as remember the competition for phobya fans and all that had to be done in return was a short review and IIRC a few didn't bother at all  So there is a good chance that this could happen (considering the cost at hand) if someone wins and doesn't have any water cooling equipment and has no intention of buying the equipment.

Hi Nexus,

the idea is to ask what watercooling they would put into the case regardless if they will or not in the end. However it would be nice of course as the new case will have the space to fit it. Who know's, the winner may even be persuaded to putting it in for the pure fact they won :D

And who knows... If you do a nice job filling up the case with HIJKLMNO we might just...

Hi :D

Well everyone keeps telling me that i need a new case but as i just lost my job a new one is not on the essential list, worth a try at winning one which i could fill with:
  • AMD Phenom II 965 BE
  • Gigabyte HD 4670
  • ASUS M4A77TD PRO
  • 4 GB Kingston 1600Mhz
  • 3 x SATA HD
  • 1 x ATA HD
  • 1 x DVD-R

For the cooling we are looking at:

  • MagiCool 360 Copper Radiator III
  • Magicool Revision II block
  • blue UV tubing
  • Submersion pump
  • Custom reservoir
  • EK-VGA Supreme HF - Nickel Acetal (had to be returned - uncompatible)
  • XSPC X2O VGA Single Core Waterblock (to replace EK block)
  • XSPC Delta V3 Chipset - Acetal

What it currently looks like:

The lighting will be provided by 30 UV leds

Ah right :o

Thanks for the reply explaining that! :)

In that case then (pun intended :p), this is what I would put/use in the XL:

  • EK-Supreme LT - UNI (universal CPU block based on EK-Supreme LTX)
  • EK-Backplate CPU Universal
  • EK-CoolStream RAD XT 360
  • EK-DCP 2.2 Pump
  • EK-Reservoir Combo DCP 2.2
  • EK-DCP PUMP mounting plate KIT
  • TUBE Masterkleer 12,7/9,5 CLEAR (2 meters)
  • EK-PSC Fitting 10mm - G1/4 Nickel (6 pcs)
  • Mayhems Aurora - Nebula Blue Coolant 1L
  • Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g)
  • BitFenix Alchemy Premium Modding LED Strip - Connect White 12cm

And of course no water cooling system is complete without this:

:D

If I win (either of the cases), I will do a full in depth review :)
