Windermere sewage = sickening

Call it 30 years of underinvestment then while the water companies raised massive debts and paid huge dividends all in the knowledge that if they screwed up the government would pick up the pieces (oh and the debt) the privatised water companies are bleeding the country dry for an essential resource it’s a joke.
But you see the point, investment wasnt better under privatisation it was much worse and I see nothing that tells me that would be any different today, indeed our chronic under investment in public services tells me it would be worse.

cocaine, anti-depressants and contraceptive pills being found in our marine life

Well that explains Dory...

Why just tourists? I wouldn't drink tap water here if you paid me. Never have and never will, thought it was common knowledge to not drink tap water in the UK.

I literally do not know one person that drinks water straight from the tap, absolutely disgusting. Either bottled, or filtered.

Sorry...what?! That's never been the case. I drink tap water every day.

Is this a troll post or are you serious?

The thing with London and other places in the south east/east, the water is very hard. It tastes different to soft water 'up north' but its still just as safe to drink.

Do you never have ice in any of your drinks when you are out?

i always drink tap water............ and whilst i know some people who sometimes drink bottled water, i dont know anyone who flatly refuses to drink tap water.

mind you i have been fortunate enough to live in places where the water quality seems "ok".

ultimately even bottled water comes from the ground (at least the posh stuff in the UK). Am having flashbacks of Peckham springs only fools and horses now :D

It’s not as if we aren’t paying enough for it.

Same I have a brita filter jug but all it really does is improve the taste, it doesn't kill anything.
they don't even remove fluoride, probably just chlorine

Mainly use the jug as otherwise I likely wouldn't keep cool water in the fridge.

Seems like we are really starting to approach a time when we need to start boiling water if things carry on
