Windows 10 Full Creator Update - Huge Gain

This... the option to turn it on.

That has now gone and you now can switch it on and off when running a game.

Ok First test shows an improvement, Shadow of Mordor The Frame rate graph on the benchmark I knew right away the FPS seems more consistent

Installed on release day. Not seen any difference in benchmarks. However, I had a very marked stutter in GTA V. Frame times would hit the floor for around 2 seconds every now and again. Since updating it has not returned. I run with VSync so I am only interested in frame times and for that reason, it is an improvement.

That is just with the update installed and not game mode enabled.

Installed it, not tried it yet though.

No issues with the install and seemed straight forward.

GTX1080ti here, so unsure if I will see any benefits.

This release and performance numbers are all over the place. Joke showing massive gains is the only one with this amount of boost while other including myself do see some ok-ish boost while other see zero change?

As above, Hardware Unboxed no gains. Gamers Nexus is the same. So whilst I don't believe Joker is attempting to deceive anyone, I think he either had a previous software issue that was resolved with the update or some other inherent problem.

And it continues Lol! New driver 17.40 is helping game performance even more here! Check out CSGO and Rainbow six

Fresh 17.10.1 install on the left (pre-wcu), fresh 17.40 install in the middle (pre-wcu) and fresh updated windows with 17.40 on the right. Windows Energy Profile: High Performance

00:01 - Battlefield 1

00:55 - Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege

01:55 - Dota 2

03:10 - Couter-strike: Global Offensive

05:00 - Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

At least it is not slower :)

There is a consistantly higher vram use on the right wcu run's that i cant explain

I upgraded to it and had all kinds of issues where my TV would have "resolution not supported" when coming out of a game etc. This was dropping from 4K in game to 4K desktop...
In the end, I wiped and installed from fresh - all fixed.
Some graphical issues sometimes... doesn't feel as painless as prior to installing. Oh, and it also has broken 2560x1440 60Hz mode on my TV. Now I get "resolution not supported" - so I need to either run at 1080p or 4K :/

Tried the upgrade assistant, still a blackscreen on launch but with a constant "loading" on my case light. for goodness sake.

Solved: Nvidia control panel, monitor refresh to "application controlled" and it's working and updated!

Also left me with 2.56GB out of 110GB on my SSD, I cannot find what's causing this.

not a difference that's noticeable on my 6700k and 980 desktop, but on my alienware laptop with i5 and 970m, wow!

I've only tried PUBG so far but gone from 45-60 fluctuating to 59fps 99% of the time with minimal drops. Brilliant!

Just updated and what a surprise, I got problems with the Windows Store it says this:

Tried everything to fix it but nothing is working, looks like I'll have to roll back, ARGH MICROSOFT

Edit: fixed it, I had to change my language settings to USA then back to UK to fix, wtf?

I take that back, when I activate game mode my mouse becomes very sketchy, like when you movie it around it seems to jump around and not move smoothly. I turn off gamemode and it's fine :(

So what is the secret to turning the game mode on?

No option here. Have it so the Xbox guide button the 360 pad is set to open the game bar in game, also tried Win+G and my custom shift+F6 inputs in game and nothing comes up for any of the options.

Tried it in Street Fighter V and Fallout 4. I guess they aren't supported? :s

Edit: Tried it in Xcom 2, Skyrim and Tekken 7 now, same results. What is the point in this new update then? :s

Edit Edit: I noticed when pressing the guide button, win+G or shift+F6 the screen will flash twice, but nothing happens.

Never change Microsoft, never ****ing change.

I can't get the Game bar up as well. I also now can't get over 30 fps in CS:GO lol... I don't have a clue what's going on.

Edit: make that all my games...
