Windows 10

Really want to test this out, but not desperately enough to install it on a brand new 5820k /970 machine.

See if I can come up with a plan to "borrow" a machine from work to install it on (unfortunately I don't think they will allow it but worth a shot)

OK, on the multiple desktops thing - I said earlier that the little "highlight" at the bottom of the icons shows you that the app is open on a different desktop - clicking on these will take you to that desktop.

So, it doesn't appear to me that you can actually have *completely* separate desktops, without seeing/previewing the apps that are open on other desktops.

So - those of you who were hoping for tens of "work" applications, and tens of "play" applications, and could hide one from the other... you'll see the apps from each desktop as you hover over the icons...

I discovered the is a check box option in the Start menu properties to use Metro instead <3 looks like I am going to get along with Windows 10 after all :D

Now to figure out how to turn charms back on...

That start menu is waaaaaay too small, hopefully somebody will make a hack to get it full screen again for those of us not still using 1024x768 displays :(

right click on the taskbar choose properties then there should be a option to use the start screen instead of the start menu

Am extracting the .iso to my WIA_WDS_SHARE folder on my Windows Home Server, so that I can install it via PXE boot using serva on non-virtuals, ie should I decide to throw it on my physical machine.

How do you enable it?

In the start menu properties, same menu as choosing between W7/W8 style starts, but on a diff tab, it;s the top check box, says something like show charms when I point to the corner, does nothing if checked :(

Already reported the bug but if more ppl could do it it would help :)

it must have enabled it when I turned on start screen instead off start menu.
under what category did you report it under? there's about a million.

hate the title bar in modern apps, is there a way to get rid of that?

atm it feels like a service pack. still we are pre alpha basically.

the task bar on the start screen sucks. not becuase it's there. but because it's not optimised. i mean it covers up the bottom off the all app button.

Installed on surface pro but apparently continuum isn't in the preview :( so get the 8.1 start screen, unless you manually set it to always use the start menu
