Windows 10

Im sorry if this has been asked before but, my windows 10 technical preview build 10041 keeps installing AMD driver for my 7970 and it tanks performance in GTA 5, how can i stop it installing this update. And also I cant download the latest version of windows 10 it just gives me 0x80248007 error. Nightmare.

i had the same problem with an oem hd8450, except the driver windows was installing failed completely and left me stuck running at 1024x768. on a 3440x1440 monitor....
only way i got around it was to wait until a newer driver was available from AMD. that doesnt mean it wont happen again though - MS really need to give us back the option to block individual updates or make the option to stop downloading hardware drivers though windows update actually work.

Windows 10 for tablets is still looking like a complete backwards step.
This new update was meant to be more tablet optimized, it's just as terrible as before.
I just use it in desktop mode on my S3.
Was hoping they'd have the Xbox One game streaming by now too.
The lack of launching stuff from start is a hilarious bug though.
That's interesting. Just installing 10 now on my Dell Venue Pro 11 to have a look at it.

Just noticed a big issue with latest build. When i use hdmi to my projector it won't go to 1080 only 720. It says that it is running at 1080 but it is actually stuck in 720. I tried reinstalling amd drivers but didn't resolve it.
I seem to have duplicate versions of the 'Documents' 'Downloads' 'Music' 'Pictures' and 'Videos' folders! Anyone else having this weird problem?
I hope the content isn't actually duplicated on the drive, as I have upward of 120Gb of music, and 240Gb would be quite a problem!!
Anyone know how to clear the error? I temporarily deleted 'ONE' or the 'Downloads' folders to see what would happen and 'BOTH' of them disappeared!! but only one was in the Recycle Bin, which I restored, and then the duplicate appeared again!!

Could it be something to do with the 'user' folder? It might be a hidden directory.
What Im trying to say, on Win 7 you have the default user account, which can set the start menu and desktop icons. Something similar ish going on?
It's a weird one for sure, but sounds possible in some shape or form.

So no 1080 support on the projector for intel or amd hdmi ports.
I also noticed the new rubbish display properties has the resolution in advanced properties, great another added click to change a basic option.

just right click on the desktop then click on screen resolution. thats 2 clicks
EDIT: im not on 10061 build yet so maybe it's different.

No Gareth it's been moved in 10061.
I have this issue too, I have a program called KeepAliveHDD or something like that, it writes a text file to the drive every few minutes and keeps it awake.

if using amd gpu and if CCC is installed you could right click on that in the taskbar then change the resolution from there. still only 2 clicks
Which is to be expected, however that will be Release To Manufactures. Public will get it about 3months after that. So no earlier than anyone expected with it being publicly released around October.

I think i'd like to roll back 10061.
50% of the time when I click the windows start button, the PC instantly locks up. No way to sort it without a complete reboot.

There's more bugs in the start menu than Microsoft are admitting!!! It's not just the fact you can't run any 'Desktop' applications from it!!
Could possibly be the transparency had mucked everything!!
I've seen 10066 and 10070 hinted at already!!! so they may be on their way very soon!!
