Windows 10

Why not go back to XP?

In truth, apart from the fact that it not longer gets updated, there is absolutely nothing wrong with XP.

Also, now that its not the main O/S, most virus writers will be looking for holes in newer O/S's and the chances are, that XP will be solid as a rock for many years to come.

I used XP64 since it first came out, and I never once had a problem with it... Why not, could actually be potentially a very good question... Even though of course you meant it with a grin.

And just for kicks, I put Vista into a VM last night, and I thought sod it, I will actually plonk it onto my main Laptop for a giggle... So, its on there now. Lets see how long it lasts for LOL

I bit the bullet and used their upgrade procedure last night, took almost an hour to install.

Currently on build 10041. I don't know if it's a placebo effect but it seems way way quicker than Windows 8.1.

I went back to windows 7 but for the few months I used windows 10 for I liked it and for the first time I will not mind paying for it when released.

may see if I can find a copy of windows 7 to upgrade to 10 when released.

does anyone know if you have a 32 bit windows 7 can it be upgraded to windows 10 64 bit at all?

This was the first problem I found and worked around -
Here are some known issues for this build
•We know this one will be a bit painful but there is a bug with this build in which Win32 (desktop) apps won’t launch from the Start menu. The workaround is to use search to find and launch these apps and pin them to your taskbar for quick access.

It really is worth reading the notes for the latest release.

It tells you in there that Spartan gets unpinned. Display settings are working fine for me.

x86 Apps no longer launch from Quick Start, it's in the notes.

yeah, saw the spartan thing. my start button does nothing though. and i cant right click desktop and get into display. even via control panel i cant access some display things which is annoying as high DPI setting has messed up my Kodi/xbmc menus.

doesnt help i am having to do all this via teamviewer as im at work ;)

When you minimize an app playing audio, it may stop playing once its minimized.

These sounds like major problems.
