Windows 10

Finally someone gets it. I've been saying this all day. MS has put everyone in a Q for upgrading so force updating has put a strain on MS service. Not in. Hurry to upgrade. MS will send me the upgrade when it's my turn.
Many were invoked to use the creation tool after seeing multiple failed attempts of automatic Win 10 installations on their systems.

Interesting article. I am going to have to upgrade though, when all the dusts settled, because I run a PC repairs business. Can't have customers asking me how to fix Windows 10 problems when I've not got it!

The article sounds similar to the release of Windows XP. The aesthetics of the Luna interface caused many to call XP a Fisher Price toy relative to Windows 2000 for example. In fact the attack on XP was fierce!

I uninstalled CCleaner and it asked to close Edge down. I must have clicked 'No' first time but its working now.

On the registry cleaner part though there are two files that keep coming back: -

InProcServer32\C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ConnectedStorageService.ProxyStub.dll
InProcServer32\C:\Windows\System32\ConnectedStorageService.ProxyStub.dll

Why would you bother cleaning the registry nowdays?

I am having way too many issues with moving personal folders. All I want is for the documents, pictures folders etc in both this PC on file explorer and also on the side bar to link to a different drive.

The built in settings don't really cut it and doing it using properties - locations is giving me duplicate folders. What do I do guys?

Thanks :)

I had fun trying this last night.

If I opted to "move" the directory to another drive and move the files within, it duplicated it. As this is a fresh install I just decided to create those directories on the other drive and put those paths as the target directory. I think the move function might be broken.

Did you do a clean install?

defaultuser0 is the user account that takes you through your user account creation. Did you have a problem when making your account or an unexpected restart?

Yeh I've been doing clean installs using my USB from yesterday. The weirdest thing about the install is that it shows the blue screen asking for the product key and then the custom/express settings but then it restarts and shows it again. It does this twice every time I reinstall the OS.

Would it have anything to do with that? Also I am using a local account of that matters?

Thanks again

Yeh i think its meant to delete itself after your account is created. Perhaps it needed a restart to trigger it.

My guess is your default install language was US? You need to go to Time and language in settings > Region and Language > Install the UK pack. Keyboard / Speech / Handwriting.

Restart

Go to Time / language and > speech change it to UK (it will now be an option.)

She should now work for you.

Haha I'm glad it's not me cracking up!!!

That's all I'm going to do now, there are certainly some odd things happening!

It's definitely clear that with this OS restarts do seem to fix a lot of different issues. Whether it's a default user account only temporarily there or a hard drive not being recognised because a driver hasn't been fully installed. Maybe that's just me but it's helped a lot of the time!

When in doubt turn it off and on again ;)
