Windows 10

I'm just in the middle of my 2nd try at a clean install now after I got the blocked key error after the 1st. Will let you know very soon....

Edit: 2nd attempt at clean install successful. Activated as soon as I entered my wifi details. Didn't get the blocked key error. All in all, barring the misleading error codes that it throws up, plus the disappearing activate button, all good.

Hm another way might be:

reset the locations in settings to "this pc"
reset all the file locations to default (but dont move the files)

change new locations to D again
copy one file from your hard drive to each location (to create the directory ext) or open notepad and just save a text file by clicking on each location on the left.
See if it saves it to D or C
move the links again.

Nope it doesnt i just tried it. With exporer open on the other side of my screen.

Thanks will give it a go just doing a system restore.

You didn't do anything with libraries did you? Because you can show the libraries on the sidebar as well.

I might have just found the issue. How are you creating a new text document? Try the right click option if you weren't and make a new empty document that way please?

Thanks mate!!

Windows 10 'Something Happened'

I just recieved my DVD copy of W10 Home x64.
I tried using the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft to create a Windows 10 x 64 Home setup USB as I wont be installing a disc drive in my new system.

But every time I go through the process I get an error message 'Something Happened' halfway through and it fails. What a joke Microsoft, between this and your moronic Nvidia driver issues you're really making a mess of this launch.

Does anyone know how to get around this or if I am OK to install from an external USB disc drive?

Thanks

I've heard upgrading to Windows 10 improves Arma 3 performance quite heavily so am doing the upgrade now, if I dislike it I can always do the roleback, TBH I haven't done a clean install for at least 6 months now so I think I should go with a clean install but to lazy.

Right here are some screen shots, apologies if they are awful I am doing this off of my iPhone.

Here's to show how the folders are setup:

Here's what happens when I create just a blank text document:

Then once I've deleted the text document:

And finally this is what happens when I click on 'This PC' and press F5 to refresh:

haha that defo looks buggy!

At least you know it's not permanent, i'd just put up with it until they roll the updates.

I've tried the fix in CMD, all updates are installed that are required, and still no Get Windows 10 icon?

Well, on Win 10 now guys!! All went smooth as cream! Fingers crossed it stays that way! Now, best way to clean install? mmmm?? Reset maybe?

Still no luck, even using the ISO from the Windows 10 FAQ thread. Every time it hangs on the blue windows logo after the first restart. Any ideas?
