2019? You're out of date there bud. Windows 2004. :p:D

*touches wood*

Windows Update checked for updates but no 2004 there, so went to the MS Update Portal website and got the Windows Update tool which detected 2004 as the latest and is updating above.

DirectX 12 Ultimate is the newest version of the API and new gold standard for the next-generation of games. DirectX 12 Ultimate takes games to a whole new level of realism with support for ray tracing, mesh shaders, variable rate shading, and sampler feedback. GeForce RTX is the first and only PC platform with support for these game-changing features.
Does that mean users, such as myself with a GTX 1050 Ti, won't benefit from DirectX12 Ultimate?

You need an RTX card for the full raytracing features of DX Ultimate unless I've missed something!

Didn't realise the latest WHQL wasn't up to date with WDDM, ah well.

The update has been fine for me. No primary issues. ONly problem is my Chinese branded XBOX360 wireless controller receiver no longer works as Windows does not want to detect it even after reinstalling the driver. Well it's been a long gn run with this official gamepad with an £8 receiver off eBay.... Time to buy a newer model...

I have one of those which worked previously as I use it on my Coin ops arcade set up to Steam BOX :D - Will give the receiver a try tomorrow!

If you get it to work let me know, in device manager it just shows up as "unknown device" even after manually pointing it to the correct driver already on the system lol. I'm guessing Microsoft has phased out such legacy hardware with third party accessories since you needed to use the official MS driver previously to get the Chinese receivers to work and pair with an official X360 wireless pad.

My issues since the update are the following -

-Windows update no longer works, It just gives me "something went wrong try reopening settings later"

-Windows Security in the task bar now has a little red X next to it, Upon opening it, It asks me to restart the service, I click on the button and after a minute it tells me something went wrong, Basically makes the built in anti virus useless, Contrary to popular belief W10's AV is decent.

-Right clicking on folders now takes a fair few seconds for the right click menu to pop up as well as selecting things in general.

-System in general now feels kind of sluggish.

Prior to this update my system was very snappy, 16 core CPU, 32GB memory, NVME storage etc... now not so much, This update needed an extra month in the oven to bake.

Well the update broke my Virtualbox Win 10 install after upgrading. Rebooted after the first part, then errored and tried to roll back, then failed and now it won't boot. Just what I expect from Windows. Fortunately I don't rely on it for more than curiosity anymore :)

Nope not working, tried reinstalling... I've read reports it doesn't work with the official adaptor either... Gutted as I need to have this for my arcade setup!

Cheers for checking, I've now ordered an xbox one pad with adapter included for £50 so I'm happy enough with that in that the dpad part is superior to the 360 one!

Would love to do that, but I need two as in two player... Hopefully this issue gets fixed :(

Update before you go rushing off to buy adaptors, it's not installing ANY of the 360 drivers and stays as unknown.. Which means it's not Third Party related

UPDATE : 360 Wireless Adaptor driver/receiver

https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/eao8zd/has_microsoft_broken_the_xbox_360_wireless/

So, after a pain in the ass time, I was able to get it to work with some research and determination. This is long, and I wrote it very fast. If you message me, I can answer questions or update it. Here goes.
Uninstall ALL the old drivers you have for the Xbox 360 controller and remove the "unknown device" in the device manager too. (I assume you all have done this a hundred times by now like me) 2.Go to the Microsoft website and download the driver Windows 7 32 bit of 64 bit, depending on your OS.
Extract Xbox360_64Eng.exe (or the 32 bit file) to a folder (Winrar will work) and will come back to this in a moment.
Open your device Manager and find the "unknown device".
Go to Device Properties > Details tab > Hardware Ids properties and you find that yours is something different from USB\Vid_045E&Pid_0719 (this is the Microsoft branded adapter ours are likely not), this will be why Windows won't accept your device.
Take a note of the device ID number (something like 0291) this is so we can modify the driver in order for it to install.
Go back to where you extracted the Xbox360_64Eng.exe file and navigate to the driver file. Should be where you extracted it (default would be Xbox360_64Eng) then Xbox360 -- setup 64 -- files -- driver -- win7 like this image hereand locate the "xusb21.inf".
Right click the "xusb21.inf" and choose "OPEN WITH" and choose notepad.
All you need to do is replace ALL THE OCCURANCES of Pid_0719 with whatever yours is listed as (Pid_0291 in my case) and then save the file [Example:] (https://imgur.com/TRmo4At) Old: %XUSB21.DeviceName%=CC_Install, USB\Vid_045E&Pid_0719 New: %XUSB21.DeviceName%=CC_Install, USB\Vid_045E&Pid_0291
Now you need to turn OFF digital signing for just a little while, instead of me typing this all out you go here and look for "Option Two: Use an Advanced Boot Option" since this will be temporary.
If you followed the guide above, you will have turned off digital signatures for the time being in windows.
Do NOT install yet from the device Manager but go back to where you stored the "xusb21.inf" file in step 5.
Right click on that file and choose "install"
A warning will come up saying "windows cant verify the publisher of the device publisher" [Like it shows here] (https://deploymentresearch.com/wp-c...ticles/SignYourDrivers/UntrustedPublisher.png).
Choose "Install this driver software anyway"
Go back to your device manager and choose "action" "scan for hardware changes"
Locate the "unknown device" right click, choose "update driver"
Click on "Browse my computer for drivers"
Choose "let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
Choose the "Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows" next and it will install!
