Windows 10

AFAIK you need to have more than just the language as UK Eng, which is a bit of a faff, so seems easier just to grab the UK Eng ISO

"Why isn't Cortana in my region or language?

Cortana is available in these languages: French, Italian, German, Spanish, English (U.S.), English (U.K.), Mandarin

To use Cortana, all these settings must be set to the same language:

Languages (this is your device language)

Speech language (language pack must be installed)

Country or region

Note: If you change your region, you might not be able to shop at Store, or use things you've purchased, like memberships and subscriptions, games, movies, TV, and music."

Hmm, I'll have another look tonight. I installed the same ISO here at work and Cortana works fine without changing anything!

After around 4 hours on my HP micro server, 10159 finally installed over Window 8.1...

Only issue ,apart from the time it took, was a warning about having media centre installed, as Windows 10 doesn't have...

Just checking a few things over and found the my HP microserver doesn't seem to want to activate...

Also some times the Remote Desktop App closes upon opening:(, which is rather frustrating as it's the one way I access the Server....

Oh right, thats interesting - thanks

Its because the upgrade is free. Every new device sold on or after the 29th with Windows 8.1 on it will get the upgrade to 10 anyway. So theres no need to get the RTM version out to OEMs months in advance to get devices on the shelves in time for release.

Devices with Windows 10 installed as a base will arrive in a couple of months, but in the mean time there no reason to wait.

Technical Level : Basic
Summary

Product Activation was first introduced into the Windows family with the release of Windows XP in 2001. Activation pairs your product key with your computer. It is also used as a mechanism for copy protection in addition to defining support rights depending on the product channel from which the software was acquired: Retail, OEM, Volume License, Trial. With Windows 10, Microsoft has made huge announcements regarding product distribution. The most notable being that Windows 10 will be free to existing Windows 7, 8/8.1 users for the first year. Regardless of this, product activation remains a part of Windows 10 in current previews. It remains to be seen if the final release will include the technology. In this article, we take a look at product activation and troubleshooting steps.

These are the new keys and I can vouch that the Pro Edition works.

Hi,

You may have to re install microserver or repair it via add remove programs - I had to repair Office before it behaved itself properly. Worth a try.

Sounds like if you haven't reserved a copy you might have to wait a bit. Not a massive surprise considering the millions of devices that will be updated.

Not a problem for me, I'm all aboard the Insider gravy train. I am deciding wether it's just that bit too risky to run Insider Preview on my home server...

I'll keep you posted about the server side:D. installed 10159 last night on mine.:D;)
