Windows 10

Installed office 2013 haven't yet used it though.

Windows 10 has been running on the main PC for nearly a week without issues now.

Tried installing on the microserver, that's another story. Long story short seems the broadcom drivers aren't compatible with windows 10, and looks like it might need a bios update to roll the next version. Decided it's not worth the faff and went back to server 2012.

How are people finding Edge compared to Firefox? I always use Chrome as my primary browser, but have a few work things that I prefer to keep seperate.

I think i'm still preferring Chrome. Although ZenMate is having some issues lately on Chrome. So if i've had to google something i've used Edge.

I suspect the 30-day limit on reverting back to Windows 7 is simply because that's the point at which it'll remove all the old files to free up disk space.

Edge's performance is excellent on lower power devices. On my Bay Trail tablet, Chrome is laggy and slow whereas Edge is super smooth.

Ditto..

On my lenovo Miix 3 edge is a joy to use apart from not being able to use adblocker etc.. chrome is just laggy..

If an adblocker + Lastpass in future come out for Edge i can see me removing chrome all together

edge seems pretty fast at some stuff, im liking it too but yeh i agree its hard to use it full time without the adblocker option

hope that comes soon!

seems better on system with low memory than google, tho hard to tell with all the ads lol

After around a thousand (exaggerated) attempts to get the upgrade done through the normal channels, it looks like someone has screwed up royally since it looks like on the most recent attempt after I tried to force it through windows update (after installing all the updates that were listed) and viewing the whole process of downloading and initial setup through windows update it seems like windows update and the reservation programme aren't communicating even though the notification I received after the first two parts of the upgrade procedure didn't give me any confidence.

Before you install windows 10 insider preview, there is something you need to do (with a button marked check PC).

Eh, wot.........

I'm not installing the insider preview you dingbats, this is supposed to be an upgrade to windows 10 pro.

So it most certainly looks like windows update and the windows 10 upgrade reservation tool aren't communicating with each other (unless this has something to do with using the fix tool), so I've downloaded the 64 bit windows 10 disc image (and I'll probably be downloading the 32 bit version for my fathers computer once the graphics card problem is sorted) and I'll be doing the upgrade with that instead of waiting for windoze update to get its finger out but it won't be for a week or so.

Only issue I have really is my toast boxes with notifications don't seem to be working. Ah well, will wait that one to fix itself I guess.
