Another feature they'll probably do a half baked job on while having so many telemetry concerns people will just use cracked games or something instead. Sounds like it would be an API of sorts for both DRM and anti-cheat but probably end up being abused by developers while undesirable to the average user.

Anyone else has had a corrupt BCD file?

It's odd, recently I've had a call from my mum for the 3rd time that her laptop ''didn't work''.

Again, the BCD file got corrupted and Windows didn't boot. I can always boot from usb, and rebuild BCD from command line, but it got me curious, how does the BCD file get corrupted in the first place.

She says she doesn't do anything odd, shuts down the laptop normally. It's a Windows 8 lappy originally on which I did a fresh Win10 install (in Uefi mode). It's happened 3 times now, first time it happened a week after I did a win 10 setup, and then about 6-12 months spaced apart.

What is the definition of cheating? One could list so many scenarios that one may or may not think is cheating.

Generally any 3rd party software that modifies the game or input in memory and gives you an advantage that wouldn't be there within the game itself otherwise.
 
Any reason why I haven't had the Creator's Update yet? I'm still on 1607 and Windows Update is coming up with no updates.
 
Dunno but my Windows 10 tablet didn't get 1607 for quite awhile due to a lack of USB 3 drivers that didn't destroy the entire install with that update :s
 
Is there an issue with the creators update? Just had 3 different machines that hang on a black screen after the windows splash logo, reinstalling 10 allows it to boot but then when it takes the creators update again, the same issue happens.
 
Microsoft put the CU downloads on hold after a month or so, due to all the issues reported. Now people won't get it automatically till they decide to start them going again.

Where are those people now that were giving me **** for claiming the potential for these kind of issues with the update model?

That can happen with any update though. Even if you allow others to be guinea pigs, there's no guarantee that an update from MS or any driver/software manufacturer won't b0rk your PC while it works fine on others. Personally, I've not had any problems with the three PC's I've updated to Creators, apart from one old and unmaintained bit of software needing to be replaced. As always, YMMV.
