Windows 10

I read someone post that somebody noticed Microsoft uploaded Products_RS4_04_20_2018.xml on server and I followed their guide to create products.cab and tested it worked fine. The latest created products.cab downloaded iso is build 10.0.17134.1.

1. Create a new folder
2. Open Notepad, copy and paste the code below then save file as RS4.bat in new folder

Code:
@echo off &title MediaCreationTool_RS4.bat - create iso or usb installer for the 1803 re-released rtm build [RS4_04_20_2018]
::v2 changes: can be run under W7 host OS with just powershell v2
pushd "%~dp0"
del /f /q products.* >nul 2>nul
powershell -c "(new-object System.Net.WebClient).DownloadFile('https://download.microsoft.com/download/F/1/2/F12AE2F0-B1CC-4A83-9529-C3D43F171C62/Products_RS4_04_20_2018.xml','products.xml');"
del /f /q MediaCreationTool.exe >nul 2>nul
powershell -c "(new-object System.Net.WebClient).DownloadFile('https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209','MediaCreationTool.exe');"
set "s1=$f=[System.IO.File]::ReadAllText('products.xml')"
set "s2=.Replace('<PublishedMedia id=','<MCT><Catalogs><Catalog version=\"1.1\"><PublishedMedia id=')"
set "s3=.Replace('</PublishedMedia>','</PublishedMedia></Catalog></Catalogs></MCT>');"
set "s4=[System.IO.File]::WriteAllText('products.xml', $f);"
powershell -c "%s1%%s2%%s3%%s4%"
start "" /wait makecab products.xml products.cab

4. Run RS4.bat will download "MediaCreationTool.exe" and create latest “products.cab” in the same directory
4. From command prompt, run: MediacreationTool.exe /selfhost or PowerShell, run: .\MediacreationTool.exe /selfhost
5. The Media Creation Tool redirected to the new April Update links on the Windows Update servers.

Is that meant to be the RTM?
I don't mind getting an RTM early, but I don't want to run an unofficial build which may have issues later on.

I was hoping once redstone 4 went live that I'd do a full wipe on my Desktop, Laptop and Tablet. (All Windows 10 devices)

Build 17133 was supposed to be the release version and was uploaded to Windows update a couple weeks ago, then pulled at the last minute. I installed on a machine at work for testing. You can convert the .esd file to an ISO and install as per normal.

Yes it is RTM, Microsoft announced it today so you can download it right now before Monday. :D

Enjoy it. :cool:

Does this new ISO allow for the "lean" install or is that for new insider builds for redstone 5?

No 1803 iso do not have Windows 10 Lean edition, Lean is only found in new Redstone 5 Insider builds so we probably will see Lean edition in upcoming Windows 10 1809 update.

Now I have Windows 10 1803 installed on my desktop and I will download latest Redstone 5 Insider build 17655.1000 on VMWare to install Windows 10 Lean and have fun experience with it to see if I can install old games like GTA III and GTA IV on it while Lean seem do not have Registry editor and Registry database.

You can download latest Insider builds from UUP Dump and install it on VMWare or VirtualBox without join in Windows Insider program.

I put on the 17134.1 ISO and now KB4135051 has updated it to 17134.5 so I think this will be the final build for the April Update.

Looks like Monday 30th of April will be when the next major update arrives according to several sources.

The next Windows 10 update is set to arrive on Monday, April 30. Most Windows updates are pretty boring affairs, consisting mainly of security and reliability tweaks, but next week Windows 10 users will get some interesting new features including the ability to go back in time.

Microsoft is finally naming its next Windows 10 update today. The Windows 10 April 2018 Update was originally scheduled to release on April 10th, but Microsoft hit a blocking bug that pushed the release to the very last day of April. Microsoft is now releasing its April update for people to manually download on Monday April 30th, before it’s more broadly rolled out to machines on May 8th.
