Trying to upgrade my dads PC over the phone and he is getting your CPU is incompatible and needs NX extensions! Its a quad core Q6600 fgs.

It will either be disabled, or not supported in the BIOS, you'll probably have to go around and look around in his BIOS settings.

I wouldn't of done that, it's meant to run till end of jan.
I expect its getting a redesign. All you need was to enter an email address and people where grabbing multiple codes. I expect they pulled it and are going to need the serial number.

It doesn't seem to be emailing out the codes anymore, tried 2 different addresses and nothing to either in the last half hour

Tried to install mine and it says an error occurred and puts Windows 7 back, something about DPC watchdog violation which I'm trying to google right now.

To be fair, Aero Glass doesn't exist, everything else that came with aero is still present and correct, with the added benefit that apps can no longer switch off desktop compositing, meaning no more switching back to non accelerated Windows just cause an app doesn't like it.

Glaucus, sorry if this has been answered 10,000 times but after the initial upgrade install can that key then be used for a fresh install if say you change your mobo. you wouldnt have to reinstall win7 then upgrade to 8?

its the potential of having to do 2 installs in the future that mean i dont want to go for this upgrade option.

Keen to know this too. Not sure if the time saving is worth £80 extra though.
