--- Windows Server 2008 FREE for Students!!!!! ---

Yes...I do. When setting it up there are a few things you need to do to make it act a little more like Vista but overall I think it's much better.

Vista is bloated and sluggish, I have used it on all sorts of different setups and it never feels as responsive and snappy as server 08

When setting up Server 2008, what things would you have to do to get to act more like Vista?

this is great thanks for the link.

I'm running a trial copy of vista at the moment with XP dual boot.

Will I be able to overwrite my existing vista or need to format ?

Ok Thanks.

I click alternative login, then type in The Manchester College and all it does is give details like email? any ideas?

I had similar problems.

It wouldn't accept my student log in details - clicked on alternative log in and it brought me to my student home page.

It then let me log in there but came up with redirect error so I hit back 5 times in my browser & it came up with "you have been verified":D

nice! I also prefer 2008 for build in VM. Much better than vista, apart from drivers thar can sometimes be a pain to sort out.

meh. when trying to install
all I get is a white screen with the mouse working.

straight after "windows is loading files screen "

edit: had to burn the image 2x

working fine now

I'm really considering this, just don't know how I'm going to decide between £60 I paid for vista which will be wasted and a slightly faster OS. I'm going to reformat within the next few weeks to this or 64-bit version of Home Premium so need to decide soon :D

Does it work with all games fine, and all software that works on Vista operate fine on it?
