That'll be me shovelling snow in a carpark at 4am again...
Snow's great when you don't have to go out to work in it. :(

Even BBC are on board, incoming!

Note to myself ! -- I must start watching BBC weather

I'm surprised there aren't more warnings about the coming weather - while there is still a lot of uncertainty especially when it comes to disruptive snowfall and how long the whole episode will last there is a lot of cross-model support for the initial cold which will quite likely have a significant to severe impact in some places and still the potential for a near record wintery snap in both temperatures and snow.

Same as always, places like BBC always downplay severe weather until the last minute incase something changes late on and it doesn't happen. They are afraid of being accused of scaremongering but I don't see how that's any worse than not adequately warning people about extreme weather and then causing people massive problems or even threat to life due to not knowing what is coming.

Looks like GEM has moved the really severe cold back a bit and further North:

Over the high ground there oof.

Still looking like plenty of ice days ahead even in the South though.

You can have it you Northerners lol

Going to be a lot of homeless people in serious trouble over the next few days...

Ye tragic that seen a lot sleeping rough in Edinburgh when I went few months ago and London recently :(

standard, after all the initial south and east going to get hit hard first, will just end up being slightly cold but still t-shirt weather and not a hint of snow anywhere south of Andover. It's the norm down here, every single time an early forecast is given of heavy snow fall, extreme weather etc etc. Come Monday that chart will change again, will be displaying green colours down here on the south coast.

No one still giving an6 snow though roff.

Arpege starting to show streamers of snow flitting across as it comes in from the East - that is probably a sign there is more sustained patches coming in as it takes hold unless there is a break down.

EDIT: Barely posted and Arpege updated to show it starting to build up behind the streamers though come Wed there is some kind of disruption pushing it North but looks like it starts to come back to the South just as the data cuts off.

They have bee saying on every forecast I've seen for nearly a week that it is going to be very cold... Not sure what you're expecting?

Just be aware that the BBC Forecasts are no longer supported by the Met Office! It is now owned by a EURO company :/ So far they have been very bad with temps way off, last week saying for next week " mostly dry " or " wintry showers "
