This country don’t rain that much, it drizzles, to experience proper rain you need to go near the equator, places like Bangladesh where it floods, you get landslides and trees uprooted are common occurrences.

This country don’t get extreme heat or extreme cold, no hurricanes, no volcanos and no big enough earth quakes to even mention to the Japanese.

Yet we make the loudest noise, everyone must think we are a bunch of pansies.
Doesn't.

I might just get up early and go and watch the ducks sliding on there arses when landing.

The park I live at has 2 lakes, a bit of Warburtons bread and watch them crash. lol :p

03:30 and a light covering in Edinburgh but even before the snow had fallen our clowncil decided that the schools need to be closed today. I also note that some headmasters elswhere have not only banned the throwing of snowballs but actually playing in the snow at all which also includes the building of snowmen.

The cite health and safety regulations but it is their extremely weird interpretation of the legislation. We complain about kids not getting enough exercise or spending too much time in front of the TV or playing computer games yet then do not allow them to have fun by playing in the snow.
I appreciate that scookscare in a difficult position but this is invariably down to parents quick to blame the schools if little Johnny gets as much as a paper cut.

Folks in our countries must be in stitches at us. Complaining of heatwaves at 32 Deg C and now “severe” weather at just below freezing and sprinklings of snow.

Didn’t it reach about -40C in North America not long ago?

Yeah but it also happens a lot more frequently over there, not so extreme as -40’c but they are better equipped for it.

Yup second night in a row they've not been gritted here - when we actually have some icy surfaces and albeit very thin but an actual layer of snow nothing - when its dry and barely cold enough for a frost they are out there spreading it like its going out of date :s

Has no one blamed Brexit yet for the impending demise of civilization in the UK because of the Beast from the East, if not allow me to do so?

Another few inches for me last night (snigger). Planning to work from home today....girlfriend's Kia seemed unfazed by it all, so I could take it to get into the office, but if Google maps is anything to go by everyone else is having trouble.

@TonyTurbo78 you were right - the closer we get the more the snow seems to dance around us and completely avoid this area. It was supposedly hammering down from 6am tomorrow until well into Friday, now we might not see much at all according to the BBC.

Weve apparently had a warning for tomorrow and friday. Not expecting too much though the lexus still has summer sports tyres on it and im expecting to be getting to work without issues

My car wouldnt start this morning, well it did then the power steering died. Im not even attempting to make it into work, simply isnt worth it.

Pretty bad in Brighouse.

Well i got a phonecall telling me not to try make it to work. Cue a busy day tomorrow when all the cranes have broken down today or burned motors out pushing too hard
