Well i had to go and ******* say it... It's all ****** now. Trains getting cancelled, which means I'm unable to go to a gig tonight, which I paid for for my friends and I.. £120 down the pan :p

Not sure how i'm getting home.. yay.

Foo fighters?

Stuck in traffic chaos on a National Express coach in Hemel Hempstead. Lots of routes out of town blocked due to cars stuck on hills in the snow. Roads are not clear at all.
M1 and M25 in the area nowhere near as bad but still down to 40mph.

Considering the planet has been spinning for billions of years I'd say 520 weeks is a very short period

Even Ice Ages which occur roughly every 100,000 years are not unusual in the grand scheme of things yet when it happens people will be crying how it's so unexpected and not normal despite happening regular every 100k years

But if you think a cyclical event which generally happens every decade without fail is "unusual" then so be it

To put it into perspective in 2010 we had near 3 months of freezing temps reaching as low as -16 on the coast and the whole of thank UK pretty much covered in snow for just as long, that was more unusual than what we've witnessed this past week

So to give commonality some context you've brought in the age of the earth and the cycle of ice ages :D. I think we can just agree to disagree.

Looks like major problems in that area looking at Herts Highways twitter

Don't be so flippant the point is that cycles are not unusual and what we've seen this week is no different to what we get each decade in fact this year is rather mild in terms of duration of lying snow, certainly not the end of the world like the papers would have you believe

Compare 7 years ago where we had 3 months of sub zero temperatures and a blanket of snow covering the whole of the UK to what we've had this week of 3 days of freezing temps and heavy snow in select areas

I'm not being flippant, I just can't take you seriously that's all.

13 inches outside now and coming down hard again.Bizzarely, there's only a light coating on all the cars where they've been swept clean by the wind

Well that snow fell quickly. Wife got home and of course left the car too much in the road. Even with Quattro I could only budge it a fraction off the road. No idea how I will get it to the MOT tomorrow.
