Winter 2020/2021

Looking like we are in for a wintery week, with rain turning to snow on Saturday evening and then the cold and snow staying to Thursday or Friday at least

I dunno about snow but the model output this morning is actually quite something for cold compared to what we've had of late.

Although it's very rare for them to be completely accurate at this range, plenty of the models are showing a decent amount of snow for large parts of the UK, with a mix of convection from the north sea hitting eastern areas, as well as low pressure systems clipping the south and hitting the cold air. Hopefully this happens, perfect time to get a massive dumping of snow is during lockdown when we don't need to struggle to get into work!

Arpege showing what looks like streamers now - generally looks pretty patchy snow wise across the country.

I think the forecasts are underplaying this one in terms of cold though - I know there are a couple of lows which are being tricky to model but pretty much all the models have had consensus for quite a few days now on much colder air spilling in than what seems to be forecast at ground level though what happens snow wise is another matter.

XC can't make its mind up. Yesterday it was back to heavy snow all Saturday and Sunday, now it's showing rain tomorrow and light snow all day Sunday.

I refer to what I said before, any forecast more than a few days is gash!

We've got snow forebast from 1am Sunday to 10pm Sunday with it turning heavy at the end. No amber warning though, just to the west of it :(

Looks like they have about 2 days of snow in the amber area.

Looks like there will be long but thin streams of snow coming off the North Sea which could dump quite a lot on places in their path over the duration but relatively isolated.

Sadly for the country more widely looks very patchy.

Good. The middle of a pandemic is not really the time you want to start with heavy snow, freezing temperatures, hazardous driving conditions and elderly Covid free people catching flu or pneumonia. I think the NHS has got enough on its plate atm.

Looking like a wet white wintry Sunday/Monday here (Beds/North Herts). But rain before the snow hits, so unlikely to settle.

Going to just be rain rain rain here.
Moving tto Wales, wow, the seasons really do swing vs East.

Summer, sunny wam beach weather . Winter horrendous, grim, wet, wet.. And more wet.

Back in Lincolnshire - summer hot but not much to do, winter, dry and cold.

Looks like 50/50 rain tomorrow, then dry but cold, the suns elevation is making a difference though now, went rock hopping down the camel estuary (weirdly therapeutic) today and crashed in a little nook near Daymar Bay.

Quite jealous of my friends up near the Cairngormes, had a **** ton of snow and it's still going.
